Tris
Tobias and I sit in the cafeteria with the rest of the gang, eating lunch. He looks extremely fidgety. It happens every year. I swear, Marcus better not even show up.

"A week after initiation I have to go to candor for a couple of days. I was wondering if you guys wanted to play capture the flag or something, " I suggest. Zeke looks at Shauna as if to tell her no. She shrugs. "I'll put on a vest." Most dauntless wouldn't even do that. Zeke still appears apprehensive, but Shauna dismisses it.

"We should get going," I say, checking my watch. Tobias looks reluctant but stands anyway. Shauna does too, but after kissing Zeke briefly.

I usually don't like the idea of kissing people in public, but I like when they do it. It's cute. Same with Uriah and Mar.

The four of us walk through the crowded halls and to the pit. Color swirls around the room. Red, yellow, blue. No grey. Just the way I like it.

Eric stands before us with his arms crossed. "About time, " he mumbles. We aren't even late. "It's about time you lose the attitude, you cocky son of a bitch, " I retort with full confidence. He rolls his eyes. Even he can't deny it.

"Welcome to dauntless, " Eric says, voice booming through the pit. "I'm Eric, one of the leaders and initiation supervisor along with Shauna." He points to her and she waves to the crowd. "Our instructors are Four, Six, and Eight." We all raise our hands and wave. Thankfully the ex candors hush their parents before they earn a slapping.

Tobias and I are pulled from initiate to initiate. I can see Tobias already getting annoyed. It's really easy for him to get pissed off on days like this. He really hates candors.

"How is she doing?" Allison's parents ask curiously. "Very well. She was the one who got the flag in capture the flag last night, " I reply, flashing her a quick smile. "I'm not trying to be rude, but which one is Six and which one is Four?" A tall man asks. He seems a few years older than Allison. Probably her brother.

Tobias and I smirk a little. "I'm Six, " I say, reaching my hand out to shake his. "And I'm Four, " Tobias says, shaking his hand when he releases mine. "Well, thank you, " her mother says with a kind smile. I don't think she's candor born. Seems too nice. We nod and turn to walk off.

Tobias and I lean against the wall with Uriah, waiting for it to end. We still have another half hour of this bullshit. "Why are you going to candor?" Uriah asks and I shrug. "I don't know. I'm actually kinda excited." "To be surrounded by jerks?" Tobias teases. "I'm already surrounded by those, " I retort, elbowing his side. "Is this how you two flirt or something?" Uriah asks with a laugh. We shake our heads. "It's just fun to make fun of people, " Tobias replies.

A man in the wretched gray walks over to us with gray stubble and a fat chin. Marcus. "Do you know where I could find a Tobias Eaton?" He asks. Tobias tenses, but I don't think Marcus notices. "I'm sorry, no. We don't have any abnegation transfers, " I reply, trying not to slap him.

"Okay, " he replies, eyeing me suspiciously. 'Thank you." He walks away and Tobias relaxes. Luckily Uriah was paying attention. "What did the stiff want?" He asks. "Wanted to find someone, but we don't have any abnegation, " Tobias replies, looking at me. I play along. "I hate acting that polite, " I say and fake shudder. "It was weird. You're always so insulting," Tobias teases again. "You watch yourself, number boy, " I threaten and Uriah laughs.

"I'm gonna go grab something from the office, need anything?" I ask Uriah. Visiting is over in a few minutes and I have work to do. "No, " he answers. I flash a smile at Tobias before walking off.
Tobias
Uriah heads off to meet Mar for something after Tris leaves for the office, leaving me alone. At least Tris got Marcus away. I hope he didn't recognize me.
