The first day of fight training...
Tris
"Today you will work on physical training, " Uriah says. "Such as running, weights, punches, kicks, blocks, sit-ups, etc, " I add and they all seem more excited for this part. "First, we'll demonstrate an actual fight." Uriah and I both make our way to the platform when the door opens to reveal Amar and the borns.

"What's up?" I ask, walking towards the other side of the platform. "Max needed the other room and told us to do it with you guys, " Amar explains and I nod. "Well we were just gonna do a fight demo, " Uriah says and we both move to the center. "Watch!" Amar shouts and the born crowd around. Zeke and Shauna find Four almost immediately.

"Why don't you guys fight and let her watch?" He asks. Eric needs to learn how to shut the fuck up. He isn't candor. He's worse. "

Because why would we?" Amar retorts with raised brows. "She's half his size." "Correct and I can still beat him unless you would rather stand where he is, " I state, walking towards him.

"Do your worst, " he says and steps up onto the platform. Zeke, Shauna, Uriah, and Amar try to hide their laughter. "Okay. Saves me from an ass whooping, " Uriah laughs, jumping down.

It's too bad that I can't degrade his rank for this and his attitude. They should make that allowed for cases like this. He thinks he's a tough guy. I hate how people underestimate me. They think I'm just a scrawny little girl. I am, but more.

He goes for a punch to my throat, but I grab it and turn him around. I pin it to his back and kick the back of his knees, making him fall. His knees make a loud thump as they hit the mat. Using my grip on his arm, I pull him down to his back is on the ground. I put the sole of my shoe on his throat. It's not hard enough to actually hurt or choke him.

"You're lucky I don't knock you out, " I say and remove my foot from his throat. "You look good from this angle," he replies with a cocky smile. "That's it." I kick his temple and he's out. "Most fights require more effort, but he's a wuss." I step down and drag him off the platform. Four looks slightly nervous. Stiff.

Tobias
That was terrifying. Is that gonna be me in my fight? Will I be dragged away? She's really good at not making us freak the fuck out. Not.

I head for the punching bag first and raise my fists. My hands are soft and skinny, not good for fights. After a few minutes, I feel someone's presence behind me. I don't turn but continue. "Keep tension here," she says and places her hand on my side. My whole body tenses, but I relax. I adjust to her advice and punch again. The bag swings a little more. "Thanks, " I add, looking over to her with a small, proud smile. She nods and moves on.

I don't mean to sound obsessed, but...SHE JUST TOUCHED ME! Tris is absolutely perfect. I love it and hate it. She makes it hard to resist the urge to kiss her. Geez. I sound totally weird. Stop it, Tobias. She's never gonna like me back.

"Lunch!" Tris calls and everyone stops almost immediately. I stop running my laps. Almost all of us are drenched in sweat, including Tris and Uriah. They must've wanted a little work out too.

We all walk to the cafeteria together. I hope the borns can have the other room back. It's making me feel really bad about how scrawny I am. The only difference between Tris and I is that I'm taller.

"That was exhausting, " Zeke says, sitting down across from me. "Tell that to us. You didn't have to do that and more when you were seven, " Tris retorts and seats herself next to me. She had to do this when she was seven?! I must be making a face because they all look at me and laugh.

"Yes we did that when we were seven," Uriah laughs. "We aren't normal people." Now it's my turn to laugh. That was embarrassing. "You should see what we do tomorrow, " Uriah says and Tris elbows him. "I'm officially scared." They laugh at me. I am. I guess I wasn't supposed to know that. What exactly, I don't know.
