About two months later...

I wake up and jump out of bed. Today's Christmas! Mom invited everyone to a party at her apartment around lunch so Shauna, Lynn, and Marlene can go to their parents' for dinner. I haven't seen Lynn in a while, but she says she loves working at the fence. We all love our jobs.

I strip myself of my pajamas and step into the shower, soaking my hair. I can't wait to see how Tobias reacts. My gift for him may or may not have broken the law in the process.

He talks about his mom all the time and I thought I should do something to do with her. I snuck into Marcus' house when I knew he was gonna and found a picture of him and his mom when they were little. Abnegation isn't supposed to take pictures anyway, so he can't confront anyone about it. Not that he would care.

It was faded, so I used what Tobias said about her to draw it on a new sheet of paper. I don't know if he'll be happy or sad, but I think he's gonna like it.

I got Shauna some new makeup I've seen her eyes. I just hope Zeke or someone else didn't already buy it for her. Marlene got some new clothes, Lynn a new gun she can use at the fence and away from it, Zeke and Uriah both get cake, knives with their names on them, and a picture of the three of us. I got mom a picture of all of us along with some new decorations for the house. I think they'll all like what they got.

I put on my long sleeved shirt, warm pants, and start brushing through my long hit. Sometimes it's a pain in the ass, but sometimes I love long hair. I slip on a pair of socks and wrap my hair in a towel while I make sure all the gifts are good. I walk into the guest room.

All set. I unwrap my hair and check the time. I'm coming early to help her set the table and such. She always goes pretty over the top. It's like her splurge day. Mom is always left with almost a weeks worth of leftovers. I'm not sure if that's good or not.

I slip on my jacket and boots before wrapping a scarf around my neck. I grab the bag of gifts and set out to my mom's. The halls are almost all empty, but some doors are decorated. There's always the annual door decorating contest. We've never done it because we didn't have the supplies or because we were busy.

I ring the doorbell and she opens it with a huge smile. "Merry Christmas!" She wraps me in a tight hug. "Hey mom, " I reply and return the hug. "Is Four coming?" She asks, wiggling her eyebrows. "Mom, " I scold as she lets me in. "First boyfriend." Sometimes I think my mom is more of a teenager than I am.

I set all my gifts under the tree and go to help with the food. I roll up my sleeves and grab some plates, silverware, and glasses. "Be careful you don't break something, " mom warns. "How long have I been doing this for?" I reply, setting it all out on the table. I hear her faint laugh from the kitchen.

Everyone should be showing up soon. I set out all the silverware and helped with the salad. Mom seems super excited for us all to be back at the house. There's a knock on the door and I rush to get it.

Zeke and Shauna stand with the biggest smiles I've ever seen. I look down and they both wear rings on their fingers. I smile too. Shauna must have seen because she wraps me in a hug. I give Zeke a thumbs up and he smiles at me. "Congratulations," I tell Shauna. I finally have a sister. Well, sister in law, but whatever.

The next knock is Tobias. I open the door and wrap him in a quick hug. I see mom smirking at me out of the corner of my eye. "Merry Christmas, " Tobias says. I release him and he starts smiling at Zeke and Shauna.

"About time, " he laughs and pats Zeke on the back. Zeke smiles and sticks his tongue out. "Says the one who didn't ask his crush out for two years." "Shut the fuck up, the both of you, " I say, smirking.
