Within twenty minutes, the door is thrown open to see a sweating Four. His eyes go right to the monitor, then he sees her eyes. He immediately turns around and walls out. When I get up to go get him, he circles back into the room with his hands over his face and tears dripping from his eyes.

"Tris, " he mutters, standing by the door. He turns to the wall and means his head on it. We can hear him crying. "Damn you, Zeke. You scared the shit outta me, " he says, slightly laughing. I smirk.

"Love you too, bro, " I laugh, patting his shoulder. He turns and hits me softly in the arm. "You might wanna go see her, " I whisper. He turns around and leans against the wall. His gaze shifts from me to Tris.

"Hi, " he breathes through an exhale. Tris has a pleading look, her eyes soft and her lips into a slight smile. "Hey, " she squeaks out. I push him towards the bed and his leg gives out, leaving him clutching the foot of the bed to stay up.

"Asshole, " he mutters, pulling himself up again. I apologize and he laughs a little bit. Four rushes to the side of the bed and picks her back off the bed and hugs her tightly against his chest.

Tris' arms shakily wrap around his torso and I walk up behind Shauna's chair, putting my hands on her shoulders. I couldn't imagine losing her like he did, not in my worst nightmares. She and the boys, they're my everything.

"You're awake. God, you did it, Tris. You did it, " he whispers but not really whispers. "I'm so sorry, Tris. It's all my fault. I should've-I should've-fuck." He laughs a little and hols her tighter.

"I missed you so much, " he whispers into the little hair she has. "Gosh, I was a wreck." I know she's smiling without even seeing her face. Mom smiles back at me.

It's impossible to hate them. You can't hate Fourtris. I've learned that. I used to dislike the idea of my sister and my best friend, but there's nobody more perfect for them. They're weird, nerdy, tough, goofy. They belong together.

Four lies her back down but stays sitting on the bed. He grabs her hand. I can tell by the way his knee is resting that it hurts. That's partially why he shouldn't work so much. He literally shattered his leg.

"You okay?" Tris asks, her eyebrows slightly furrowing and her eyes shrinking again. Four nods and puts a hand on her leg. "I'm fine." Tris glances towards his legs that hang off the bed. He shakes his head. "Tris, I'm fine. Really, " he insists. I can tell that she doesn't buy it, but drops it.

Tris scoots herself down in the bed and curls up into a loose ball. She rests her head on the bed next to Four's leg and he shifts his hand to rub her back. "How ya feelin'?" He asks. She just lies there.

"Just lay back, Four. She isn't going anywhere, " I suggest. He shakes his head. "I'm gonna have to get some sleep for work, " he argues. I shake my head. "Come on, lay with her. She clearly wants you to." He shakes his head, looking down at her.

"I told you I was gonna leave when all of it was paid off. I can't let myself hurt her again, " he says, moving his hand to rub her shoulder. She must be asleep because Tris would definitely be arguing right now.

"After all this, you're just gonna leave her?" Shauna asks. "You know the first thing she said?" Four shakes his head. "She said your name-your real name. Then she started crying because she 'shouldn't have said that.'" I notice Four get slightly tense.

"Tris is better off without me." We all shake our heads. "You're fucking crazy, Four, " I state plainly. He looks up at me. "I don't care if I'm crazy for not wanting to hurt her." I shake my head.

"You don't understand, Four. You can't just run away from your problems. She loves you and I know you love her too." He gets tenser. "That's the problem. Everyone I love gets hurt." I close my eyes and take a deep breath before opening them.
