Tobias
Shit. I look to the writing on the board. I have to fight him today. I swear Tris is trying to get me factionless. Just look what Eric did to the candor. He can't even fight anymore. If he did that to a person he doesn't have a problem with, what will he do to me? I gulp.

They just had to give me anxiety by making ours last. I'm screwed. I'm factionless. I'm dead.

"Lisa and Marie!" Uriah calls and they quickly scurry onto the mat. "Begin, " Tris says calmly. They bounce around, flashing sorry looks at each other. I think they're friends. When you're abnegation, you learn to be observant.

Short story short, Marie hits her temple and knocked Lisa out after receiving a few punches to the face. Lisa basically just got hit in the temple and kicked in the side. That was a quick one.

We all head to lunch, leaving a few fights for later. "You'll do fine," Tris assures me as we walk down the halls. I scoff and shake my head. "In my dreams." She nudges my arm with her elbow ad she laughs.

I love seeing her carefree like this. She looks so peaceful. She looks like a normal teenager. Tris is usually so responsible and mature. It's like she's already an adult. She did have to grow up pretty fast. Apparently, her mom was always working.

"If you could pick any job, what would it be?" Zeke asks and I shrug. "You?" I reply and twirl some noodles around my fork. "I don't want a big job. Something small, but not a fence guard, " he explains and I nod. "What about you, Shauna?" I ask. "Maybe a nurse or something like that." I nod.

"What would you four pick?" Shauna asks Marlene, Lynn, Tris, and Uriah. They shrug. "I like a tattoo artist, " Lynn says and we nod. "Probably kitchen. I'm pretty good at cooking, " Marlene answers. "Initiate trainer, " Tris and Uriah say at the same time. "And leadership, " Tris adds and Uriah nods in agreement. Do they do everything together?

Initiate trainer sounds cool. Stop getting your hopes up. You probably won't even make it. I probably won't. Not like I'm even intimidating like Tris and Uriah or anything. Honestly, Tris is only intimidating when you get to know her.

"Last fight, Eric and Four!" Uriah shouts. Tris flashes me an encouraging smile that my body refuses to return. I want to, but I'm just pissed off. For a minute I thought she might actually be my friend. Guess not.

Eric and I step onto the platform. He cracks his knuckles and shifts his weight from foot to foot. "You ready for the infirmary, stiff?" Eric chuckles. Tris looks at me with a clenched fist. Her glare rests on Eric, but she then turns to me. She nods tightly and I do the same. Tris wants me to win. I intend to.

"Begin, " Uriah barks and I turn back to Eric, bouncing on the balls of my feet. He smirks at me. He is revolting. Especially with all his new tattoos and piercings. It makes him look ridiculous.

"Is the stiff ready to be factionless?" I roll my eyes. I'm not losing this. "Nope, " I retort, blocking his punch aimed for my throat. He starts moving to his left, so I move to mine. "Are you?" I ask, mimicking his smirk. He shakes his head and rolls his eyes.

"Are you gonna fight or chit chat all day?" Uriah asks sarcastically, tapping his watch. I fake a punch to Eric's stomach but get a successful kick in his side. He yanks my leg from under me and I fall, instantly trying to stand up again, but not before he kicks me in the face.

Pain sears through me, but it's nothing I'm not used to. Blood drips down my face and I don't bother to block it as I stand. He shoves me back, but I keep my footing as I stumble back slightly. He reminds me of Marcus. I shudder a little.

I get a good punch to his throat in return for the many, many punches I received. He falls back, struggling to keep his big body from hitting the floor. I kick him quickly in the balls and he falls, clutching himself. I know where it hurts, to say the least.

I'm not even reluctant to kick the shit outta him. I can tell I'm probably covered in bruises. My ribs and face are probably more purple than skin tone. "Winner!" Tris yells and I hear a glint of happiness in her usual instructor voice. She can hide it pretty well. "Dismissed to dinner. You have tomorrow off!" Uriah tells us and all of them cheer.

I won. I actually beat Eric. Thank God. It's then that I realize it's only Uriah, Tris, an unconscious Eric, and I left in the room. "Nice, " Tris says, raising a hand to me. I high five her with a proud smile. "I told you that you'd win, " she states almost as confident as me. "Shut up, " I retort with a shared laugh.

"I'm not even taking this one to the infirm. He can wake up on his own," Uriah says as the three of us walk out to dinner. I laugh. "I agree, " I add and Tris does the same after me. "You've won two out of three fights. Pretty good, " Uriah says, clapping a hand on my back. I nod happily. I only lost because it was a candor bigger than Eric. I didn't even lose too bad.

"Woah," Zeke says as I sit down. "I take it you lost, " he laughs and I don't say anything. "Quite the opposite, " Tris answers, sitting next to me. "Notice how he's not here, " Uriah adds, sitting next to Marlene. They are totally together. "You're the one who appears to have taken the beating, " Lynn days and I shrug. "But I won," I add with a cocky smile.

"How did your fights go?" Tris asks, quitting ketchup onto her burger. "Both won," Shauna says, wrapping her arms around Zeke's bicep. I feel really awkward, but Tris smiles sweetly. Damn, she's perfect. "You two are good together," she says, not looking up. I guess this is normal in dauntless.

"We need to find you a boyfriend, " Mar encourages and Tris instantly shakes her head. "Not interested." There goes your chances, Tobias. "Why?" Shauna asks in a whiney tone. "Why is it your business? But if you must know, people are idiots and assholes, " she answers with a shrug, bringing her burger to her mouth. "You'll feel differently soon, " Marlene answers.

"Or she has a secret boyfriend," Lynn butts in and Uriah turns to her. She shakes her head. "Not true, " Tris argues. "I wish, " Shauna mumbles and Zeke nudges her arm. We all laugh. "But seriously, I agree, " Uriah adds and her face turns shocked. "You're joking?" He shakes his head. "Dude, you're fourteen, " he replies and she laughs, shaking her head. "Why don't you focus on your own love life?" She points to Mar. I smirk a little. I'm way out of her league anyway.
Shauna
He totally likes her. It's obvious. When she said she didn't want a boyfriend, he slightly frowned, but was quick to correct it. They would be so cute together. Four and Six. Tris and Four. Just imagine it. It would be perfect.

I am totally gonna make this happen. Zeke is way too overprotective of her, but he only does that because their dad can't be here to do it. He tries to take over the fatherly role in their lives and I find it quite sweet of him.

I can't believe she has never had a boyfriend. She is totally pretty and her body is perfect. Maybe it's her rock-solid personality. Four doesn't seem to mind. He is always looking at her. They would be so cute!
A.n.) Sorry for the short chapter. I didn't know how to fill the rest of it, so I decided to end it here...
