"You know I said that so he can leave. I am sorry if I stirred more problems". He said after he watched that man leave
"You didn't stir anything". She said shrugging, "But now you just took a pass to take what life gives me to come to you too".
"You mean that man?". He asked snickering, "I can take him down just fine".
"Ek toh tumhari akar hai na kum nahi hoti". (This- your arrogance never gets less)
"Kyun karoon mai kum?. Ab apni tareef mai nahi karoon ga toh aur kon kary ga?". (Why will I lessen it?. If I won't praise myself who will?)
"Kis liye zarorat hai tumhae apni tareef karny ki?". She asked as she turns to open her house door (Why do you need to praise yourself?)
"Kisi ki nazaro mai ana chahta hoon, meri saadgi dekh mai kia chahta hoon". He said mumble as she went inside (I want to be seen in someone eyes, look at my simplicity what I want)
"What are you going to do now?". She asked standing in the doorway, "You haven't rested well in two days".
He shrugged, "I am fine staying outside here".
She looks at him concerned, "But, it's cold".
"I can handle the cold just fine. I don't look tough but I have been in worse conditions". He said smiling as he watches her still frowning in concern
"You didn't sleep well too". She added
"I can stay awake for a week without a problem". He said softly
"True. Once, I had competition with my husband about who can stay awake the longest". A beautiful smile graced her lips
"Who won?". He asked watching the different shine on her face as she remembers her time with her husband
"Obviously, he did. I barely functioned properly after the second night and he was the one teasing me--". She started but cut herself off when she remembers she was sharing about her husband
"Why did you stop?". He asked confused
"I shouldn't be talking about him". She said sighing
"If it makes you happy, why not?". He asked and she shrugged walking inside coming back with a pillow and a comforter handing it to him
"If you are cold and it gets hard, knock on the door, ok?". She said pressuring her words so he calls her, "Don't hesitate".
"This is new". He commented watching as the confusion overtake her features, "You worrying about me".
"You helped me, Badar". She said smiling as she went back inside leaving him with his thoughts
He sits under the window occasionally looking around the house to make sure no one enters inside.
Suddenly the window opens startling him as he sits upright to find her standing there. He felt his throat dried as he looks at her sleepy bare face and puffy cheeks that have a slight blush on them.
"You are done sleeping already?". He asked as she forwards him a big mug of hot tea in this cold night he was craving
"I told you I sleep for a couple of hours". She said shrugging, "You didn't sleep?. Do you want to sleep in?".
"I don't think it's appropriate". He said softly as he drinks the tea making him feel warm
"I will carry a knife with me just in case I have to use it". She said smiling
He chuckles shaking his head, "You know you are weird".
"Come on in". She said moving to open the door as she navigates him through the dark towards the empty room
