January 5th,

It was the first day back from break. School was back in session which meant say and Jessica were going back to the heavily packed days. After Christmas, Sam and Jessica just worked and worked. Jessica felt extra overwhelmed now that her junior year midterms were coming back and she had no time to study with work. All she wanted was to get through this school year and get good grades. Jessica wanted her continue her education after the baby and when she graduates next year.

Ann and Jessica were filled in on everything happening with Dorthy and their father. They were quite surprised that their mother left and were happy to hear that she was mending her relationship with Jane and George who had been angry at their parents ever since the big fight between Ann Jessica and Albert. But the two were still waiting to hear from their mother. They wondered if she truly wanted to make amends with them. It's been three weeks since she left Albert, what was she waiting for?

Things at school got worse and worse for Jessica. She still got ugly looks and heard teachers and kids whisper about her, but as long as she had her friend Sarah, Sam, and Jane by her side she was able to tolerate school.

"I can barely fit in those weird desks in math class. Soon they'll have to order a special one just for me." Jessica jokes at the lunch table

"You're getting a little tubby!" Jane laughs

"Hey, that's rude." Jessica says

"But you were just-" Jane stops when she sees Sam shaking his head no to her. "I'm sorry"

"How are you feeling? When's your next appointment?" Sarah asks

"Tomorrow! We get to see her again. It's been almost a month since we've had an ultrasound. Everything else has been check ups."

"Twenty three weeks today!" Sam says

"Have you thought of names?" Jane asks

"We have a few in mind. All we can say is that she'll have two middle names. One being Lange." Sam says

"Awww, that's nice."

"Even though she'll have Sam's last name, I want her to have my name somewhere in it as well." Jessica says proudly

"That's so cute. Mom will love it!" Jane says

The table grows quite and Jessica rolls her eyes. "She still hasn't called me. You would have thought she would on christmas." Jessica huffs

"She's afraid... she doesn't know what to say." Jane says sticking up for her changed mother.

"She's had months to think. You'd like a simple I'm sorry would be okay. What is she coming up with some big speech?" Jessica hisses

"Jessica, give her time."

"I'm tired of giving people time. She obviously doesn't want to be in my life and I've come to terms with that and I'm perfectly fine!" She says standing up

"Babe where are you going?"  Sam says softly

"To the bathroom. I don't need any company either." She says leaving the table

"Sorry... she's just having a hard week. She's overwhelmed and extra sensitive. Don't take it personal." Sam says

After School Jessica went home to get ready for work. For some reason, today she felt lonely inside. Her mood had went down so much. Jessica knew she was stressed, but maybe there was more to it. She felt off and not pregnancy off. Everything just hit her hard at once this week and she fell into a dark hole. She didn't really want to be around anyone, but she had to work and after work stay up to study for her midterms.
