May 10th;

"Good morning to you two!" Dorthy says as Jessica comes down the stairs with sleepy eyes and Sam is holding the screaming new born.

They had been up all night with Eloise. This was the first night that she was up all night long screaming and crying. Nothing could soothe her.

Jessica had tears in her eyes as she sat down. "I don't know what to do. I've done everything. I've tried feeding her, I did skin to skin, Sam held her, we tried to feed her with a bottle, everything. She just won't stop crying." Jessica said breathlessly

"Let me see that little girl." Dorthy says taking her from Sam.

Sam sits down next to Jessica and drinks whatever coffee cup was available.

"Hey that's my coffee." Jane says

"Can I have it?" He asks desperately

"Yeah, sure."

Today was Jane and Sam's big day. They were graduating. The plan for today was for Sam to go drive over to his parents house to take pictures and get ready. He would meet Jessica and her family at the school. Jessica and the baby are going to be driving with Dorthy Jane and George to the school.
After gradation Jane had plans with her friends. So she wasn't "needed" at home. So Sam decided to take Jessica and the baby out for the night to celebrate themselves, as a family.

Dorthy gently rocks little Eloise and holds her close. She immediately stopped crying. "How did you do that?" Jessica asks

"It's nana's touch." Dorthy winks

"My ears aren't ringing anymore." Sam says

"Why don't you two go get some rest. You have a big busy day today. I'll watch the baby for a bit."

"Really?" Sam says

"No, mom. She's our baby. You don't have to babysit her." Jessica reply's. She hated the feeling of people helping her. But she knew she needed this break for the first time in eleven days since Eloise was born.

"Go on. It's okay. I got her. I love spending time with the baby!" Dorthy smiles

"Thanks mom." Jessica says as she stands up

"Thanks Dorthy. If you need us just wake us up." Sam says

"Ellie bean, say "bye mommy and daddy, go sleep!""

Sam and Jessica run up the stairs and go straight to bed. Jessica says as she wraps herself up in her blankets.

"Hey, don't be sad." Sam says

"Why did she stop crying when my mom held her? What am I doing wrong?" Jessica cries

Sam cuddles up next to Jessica and holds her. "You're doing nothing wrong. Sometimes babies need a little change of scenery." He says

"I feel useless."

"But you're not, babe. You have to get this negative energy out of your head. You're a new mom. It's not easy for anyone. But we have been doing great so far. I mean look at the amazing eleven days we've had." He smiles

"I've only taken five showers these last eleven days." She giggles

"But it's worth it, isn't it?" He says

"Yeah... it is. I just can't help these feelings I've been having." She sighs

"I'm here to talk."

"I think right now I just want to sleep."

After a two and a half hour nap, Jessica and Sam woke up to start getting ready. Dorthy let the two shower before Dorthy got ready herself. She was trying to make today go as smoothly as possible for the young parents.
