It was the next day at the dojo and we were practicing our fighting positions for right now. My dad just kicked Eli's leg into the right position."Stabilize your base, Hawk. Keep your balance forward when you strike.", my dad said while showing him what to do.
"Yes sensei. Hai.", Eli said and punched the air. My dad was turning away when a kid behind me flinched. I saw him in the mirror. Oh shit. My dad gave him a look... and I knew that look all too well.
"Did you just flinch, Virgin?", my dad asked him. The poor boy looked terrified of him and I couldn't help but feel bad for him. My dad then pumped his body at another boy behind Virgin and he flinched too.
"Holy shit. We got a room full of flinchers.", my dad mumbled while looking around the room. "Yes sensei", most of the student said stupidly. I smacked my forehead. Idiots. "That wasn't a question," my dad yelled.
"Raise your hand if you've never been punched in the face before.", my dad said. Almost everyone except me, Miguel, and Aisha raised their hand. I knew Brianna and Eli hadn't but damn. There's a lot of kids who haven't in this room.
"All your lives you've been avoiding fights, so you don't break your nose or loose a tooth. This concussion nonsense. So there's only one solution, before you leave this dojo, I want everyone in here to be punched in the face. Ms. Robinson, line em up.", my dad demanded.
"Yes sensei.", she replied. Oh I am SO staying out here to watch this. It's too good not to. Aisha walked up to Virgin and punched him in the face. Hard. He fell down to the ground, groaning in pain. The cycle continued for a while. She would punch them and they would all groan in pain. I knew Miguel was in there talking to my dad about Sam. He had already told me all about her. Just don't know why he'd go to my dad for girl advice.
I could hear their conversation a little bit. "So she likes karate huh... you ain't talking to me about my Addy are you?", my dad asked him. I already knew fear was on Miguel's face and I held back a laugh. I got up and went over to them to try and help Miguel out of this.
"No dad, he's most certainly not talking about me. Besides, Miguel's one of my best friends. More like a brother to me than anything.", I told my dad reassuringly. My dad nodded his head and I then walked away and went back to watching Aisha punching kids. It was then Eli's turn and I got a little anxious. Sure this was fun to watch but, come on. It's Eli and I hate seeing him in pain.
Aisha punched him and he fell to the ground pretty hard. Out of instinct, I ran over to see if he was okay. "He's ok", Aisha said. "I'm ok", Eli said right after her. I chuckled a little bit and helped him stand up. I examined his nose. It didn't seem broken. But then that's when I saw it lying on the ground and the blood around his mouth. "It's just a tooth, Addy. Don't worry", Eli told me. I guess that's better than a broken nose.
"Yea well next time don't hit him THAT hard in the mouth Aisha. He's gonna need those teeth for the next 70-80 years.", I told her. Eli chuckled next to me. Aisha just laughed and turned to finish off punching kids.
