"Come on, Addy. The doctor said your appointment was at noon, its 11. We need to get a move on!" My dad yelled at me from across the apartment.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm coming. Even though all I'm going to meet with is disappointment." I said back. I grabbed my wallet and my house key and headed out the front door. I was honestly really nervous. I was afraid of what the doctors would say. I have a feeling this appointment will be determining my future and I'm not sure if I am ready for it.

"Look, whatever the doc says, just know I'll be there for you and with you. I'll help you however you need, okay Addy?" he asked me. I nodded my head and have him a tiny smile. If this doesn't work in my favor, I don't exactly know how I am going to react.

About an hour drive later, we were sitting in the waiting room. My anxiety was bouncing off the walls.

"Adelaide Lawrence." A nurse called my name. My head snapped up and my heart started to race. I got up and my dad followed my actions. We followed the nurse to a room and she did all the regular procedures.

"Dr. Harrison will be in with you shortly." the nurse said and walked out of the room. I let out a shaky breath.

"So, uh, how are you and Hawk?" My dad asked me. I raised an eyebrow in confusion. My dad never asks me these things.

"We're doing really well actually. He's come a long way. I'm glad he's back to himself." I said to him.

"Are you guys, uh, you know, being safe or whatever?" My dad asked me.

"What do you mean? Like with karate? He never ever puts his full strength when we fight even though I insist him too." I answered him.

"No, uh I don't mean karate. I know you could kick his ass if he ever uses too much of his strength. I was talking about, uh, you know." My dad said and widened his eyes in a manner of saying "you should know what I am talking about". I sat there with a scrunched up face until it finally hit me. I gasped and hid my burning face.

"Dad! Why in the world would you ask me about something like that?!" I yelled at him.

"Well, you're my daughter and I am the only parent you have right now so I am going to make sure you aren't going to make a silly mistake and get pregnant." he said to me. I groaned in embarrassment.

"Dad, we haven't gone that far yet. Don't worry, I can just ask Carmen if I need anything or even Miggy. But I promise I'll be safe." I said. I shook my head in disbelief that we were even having this conversation in the first place.

"Okay, good. Cuz I'll kill him if he gets you pregnant." He said and I groaned for the second time. Just then, the doctor came in and everything else stopped. My mind was clear of the last conversation I just had and focused on the future one I was about to take part in.

"Hi, I am Dr. Harrison and I am a neurologist. I am actually one of the top neurologists in the country. So, I've looked over your scans and this is actually a pretty easy fix. All I need to do is inject a liquid into your spin and it should heal itself." she said. My eyes widened and a smile couldn't help but be placed on my face. I was going to be fine. I was going to be able to fight again. My dad cheered loudly and I joined in.

"Thank you so much doctor. Why didn't the other doctors know how to fix my back if it was such an easy fix?" I asked her.

"Because this is a very rare case. Temporary paralysis is something that is very uncommon, especially at your age." she said. I nodded my head.

"Okay, I am going to need you to lift up the bottom half of your shirt for me please." she ordered. I did as she said and I felt a sharp pinch in my lower back but it didn't last long.
