Demetri wound up his arm and hit the volleyball, but it ended up hitting the net instead of going over. I laughed at his inability to play sports."Mulligan, send it back" Demetri said. I looked at him through the net. "There's no mulligans in volleyball." I said. The wind was picking up and it blew my hair into my face and mouth. I started to spit the hair out and Eli laughed at my struggle. The wind was still blowing my hair into my face so he came over and started to brush the hair out of the way and took my hair tie and put it up into a messy bun. This wasn't the first time he's ever done this. I looked up at the 5'8, blue eyed boy standing in front of me, cheeks red with embarrassment and nervousness.
"Thanks, E." I said to him. "No problem, Sunshine." He said with a smile and went back to his spot in the sand. My heart fluttered at the familiar nickname. I haven't heard it in a while. Man, the beach can have some nasty winds.
"Water break." Demetri said and walked over to Brianna who was laying on a towel, trying to tan under the sun. I smiled at the two as they talked. They went on their date a couple of nights ago and Bri said it went well. It's about time those two finally realized their feelings.
"Hawk." I heard a voice say. I turned around and Miggy was standing there. He had a look on his face and he refused to look at me when I walked up beside Eli. I walked away knowing exactly what he was going to tell Eli. He had a right to, but I didn't want to face Eli after he found out. Even though we were best friends since third grade, I never told him I had a brother. Why? Because I never saw him and couldn't even consider him one at that point in my life. Why did I never tell them eventually? I'm not sure.
I walked over to Bri and Demetri. "Soooo how are my favorite love birds?" I asked them teasingly. They turned red and laughed at me.
"We're doing just fine, Addy." Brianna said to me. I nodded my head. I looked at them. They made a cute couple. I wish I had something like they did. Only, I knew my heart would always belong to a certain boy with a blue Mohawk and a, now secret, nerd side.

"You guys, have you seen the commercial?" Aisha asked the two boys not sitting far from me. I was eavesdropping on their conversation and was kind of disappointed.
"What commercial, Aisha?" I asked her, walking over to the small group.
"Sam's dad started his own dojo and he disses Cobra Kai, in his new commercial." She replied. She hands Miggy her phone and I leaned over his shoulder and rested my head on it, watching the commercial Daniel LaRusso made.
"Because at Miyagi-Do, it's not about the money. It's about the karate." The commercial finished. Jesus Christ. "Snake in the grass"? This made my blood boil. He didn't need to diss us in order to get students.
"There's a lot of talk in the valley." My dad started. Instead of practice, we were helping him make a commercial to get back at Daniel LaRusso.
"About free karate." He continued. "But everyone knows that in life you get what you pay for. You wanna really kick competition?" He said and then kicked the plant, breaking it.
