Chapter Thirty-Seven: Keeping Everyone Together

As I sat in my room, I stared up at the ceiling, remembering the first day that Miyagi-do and Eagle-Fang fought together. 

Flashback

"Lets begin!" my dad yelled. Everyone looked around wit weird looks on their faces. Demetri raised his hand, "Uh begin what exactly?"

My dad and Mr. Larusso looked at each other, "Begin a new era. Many of us used to be enemies. But rivalries don't need to last forever. The All Valley Tournament is just a few months away, and this year, the stakes are higher than they've ever been. We know that Cobra Kai is gonna use every dirty trick in the book. There's only one way we're gonna be able to beat-" Mr. Larusso went on but was eventually cut off by my dad. 

"By kicking their asses so hard they shit themselves. We gotta take things to the next level." My dad said while walking around. 

"Gonna teach you an aggression stronger than anything Cobra Kai can throw at us. They strike first? We'll pre-strike!" my dad continued. 

"Okay, we're getting ahead of ourselves. We are going to respond to what they do." Mr. Larusso cut in. I raised my eyebrow at the growing tension. 

"Eagles do not respond. They swoop down and take whatever they want. That's what we're gonna do. Take back the Valley." My dad cut in again. I put my face in my right hand. This isn't going to last long. These two never work well together. 

"Take it back in a measured and organized approach." Mr. Larusso countered. 

"We bite first!" My dad countered back. I was already exhausted between the two basically bickering. 

"Okay, let's just warm up with some simple exercises." Mr. Larusso said. 

"Alright, line up!" my dad yelled. We got into our positions, Eli coming to stand next to me. I looked up at him and realized just how long his mohawk was getting. He gave me a smile and I felt my heart flutter. 

"And just breathe and follow me." Mr. Larusso said and started to do his routine, Eagle-Fang trying to follow along. Since I've watched him do this so many times, I got the hang of it really quick. But my dad was quick to interrupt.

"Fighting positions! Right leg back. Hi-yeah!" and Eagle-Fang did just that but I accidentally kicked the person in front of me. Mitch apologized to Nate who groaned on the ground.

We went through the day, fighting and sparring each other. We did some other exercises that my dad put up for us, Miyagi-Do having a hard time keeping up. But they made it through the day without killing each other.

End Flashback 

To think that was only a week ago. I was fighting my ass off especially at the Laursso's house. And now...its just nothing. It's been a couple of days since I've spoken to anyone. Eli has been calling and texting but I just can't face him right now. I can't bare to see the pity on his face. I heard a knock on my front door and groaned. I got up and padded over to the front door, opening it. My eyes widened in surprise.

"I brought your favorites." He said. I looked down at the stuff in his arms. A teddy bear, dark chocolate with caramel inside, and a bag of food from the burger place we love so much.

I looked up at Eli with so much adoration. "Oh Eli, you didn't have to do this" I said to him and stepped aside so he could come in. I shut the door and ran over and jumped into his arms. He groaned at the surprise contact but quickly recovered and held me up. I buried my face into his neck and a new smell was coming from him. 

"Did you get a new cologne?" I asked him as he set me down. 

"Yeah, I thought it was time, ya know." He said.
