Chapter Thirty-five: Jumped

"Ssshh! Be quiet you idiot!" I whisper yelled at Demetri as we peaked around the mall corner, watching Bri talk with someone from Cobra Kai. Demetri had confirmed this was the boy he had caught her with the other day. People were bustling around the mall and chatting as they shopped. The mall had a huge sale in all stores right now which gave us the perfect coverage so we could easily blend in and spy on Bri. 

It wasn't like Bri to betray her friends like this. It didn't make any sense. I shook my head as she laughed at something he said, throwing him a toothy smile. It sure as hell wasn't like Bri to cheat either. She had never condoned cheating and even used to yell at the TV at the characters who cheated on their significant other. And then proceeded to say how stupid that said significant other was for getting back together with the cheater. 

"Lets just go, Demetri. Its obvious she's made her choice. I'm so sorry." I told him and gave him a small hug. He sighed and just nodded his head in defeat. He's been a wreck since the whole thing happened. I felt terrible. I've never seen Demetri so down. Not even when Eli was Hawk. 

I dragged him back to my car and we sped off to the dojo. I wasn't feeling all that well today especially with the whole Bri and Cobra Kai shit. It was messing with my head. 

We pulled up to the dojo shortly after and hopped out of the car, heading inside. I set my stuff down next to Sam's as always and put my Gi on. 

"Today we are going to learn how to do really high kicks incase of an opponents size." My dad said. We nodded our heads as they showed us what to do and we broke up into pairs. I was with Demetri of course, one of our tallest students. 

I went to follow what our sensei's taught and connected with Demetri's nose, accidentally breaking it. He stumbled back and held his nose in pain.

"I'm so sorry, Demetri! I didn't mean to throw so much power into it." I exclaimed and rushed over to help him.

"It's okay, Addy." He said before Mr. Larusso took him away, taking him to the hospital. I held my head in my hands, frustrated with what I did. I guess I'm still letting everything get to my head. I felt a large hand on my back, rubbing circles trying to soothe me. The familiar scent of clean laundry and roses filled my nose. 

"He'll be okay, sunshine. I promise. Don't worry about it. He's taken harder hits than that." Eli said. I sighed and nodded my head in agreement. While I know my hits and kicks are strong, Eli's were a lot stronger even if it didn't look like it. I also didn't have the energy to joke around right now. 

We continued with the lesson for about an hour and they called it a day.

"What do you say about a lunch date?" My red haired boyfriend asked me as we walked out of the dojo.

"I think that sounds great. Did you wanna go now or go home and change?" I asked him as we reached my car. He suddenly stood right in front of me and put his hands on either side of my head, trapping me. He leaned in close and I thought he was going to kiss me until he moved his head to the left.

"I think we should go home and change...together." He whispered in my ear, lips gliding lightly over my earlobe, sending a shiver down my spine. I lightly smacked him on the shoulder. "Absolutely not."

He laughed at the embarrassment on my cheeks and I playfully pouted at him. "You and your stupid suggestive jokes."

"Come on baby you love them." He said playfully. I rolled my eyes but couldn't help a smile at the pet name.

"Can we please just go get lunch now? I'm starving, Eli." I said to him and he nodded his head in agreement and hopped in the passenger side of my car. Whelp, didn't know we would be taking my car.

After about 20 minutes we were parked in front of the diner we always go to and headed inside. My stomach growled as soon as the smell of burgers hit my nose and Eli laughed making me playfully pout. But before we could fully step inside I felt someone grab the back of neck and a hand over my mouth to keep me from screaming. I was dragged away from the diner and I searched frantically for Eli. I knew this wasn't his doing because whoever had me didn't exactly smell the best. 

I was pulled into a small alley and held up against a wall by my neck. A familiar face made its way into my view. I struggled to breathe as his hand enclosed deeper around my neck.

"LET HER GO!" Eli roared. I noticed he was being held back by the same guy Brianna was with. 

"What do you want, Kyler?" I squeezed out. 

"Revenge." He simply said before releasing his grip on my throat, making my kneels buckle beneath me from the lack of air not to mention I was seeing stars. I felt a sharp pain make its way through my abdomen and then my left cheek. I then felt a heel of a shoe kick the side of my head, making my vision more hazy. 

He was attacking me. He was goin to beat me relentlessly. 

I faintly heard Eli yelling at Kyler and I looked up in between punches to see him struggling against the two Cobra's grip. They were making him watch me as Kyler  continuously pounded his fists into my face.

I felt like I was on the verge of losing unconsiousness when I felt kicks to my side and back. I was relieved he decided to leave my head alone. After 2 more kicks to my side it stopped. I groaned loudly as I rolled onto my back. I watched as three blurry figures walked away and one running my way before I completely fell unconscious.

 I woke up to the sound of hushed voices and lightly groaned as the light seeped its way into my closed eyelids. 

I slowly opened them to find a doctor, my dad, Eli, and basically everyone from Miyagi-Do and Eagle-Fang standing by my bedside. 

"What the hell happened?" My voice was hoarse from being unconscious for so long.

"Kyler beat the shit out of you." Someone murmured. Flashes came and went as I tried to remember. The pain going throughout my whole body told me that whoever said that was true. I slowly sat up, ignoring the comments of everyone telling me to lie down. 

"Alright, I think its time we give Ms. Lawrence some space." The doctor said making everyone but my father and Eli leave.

"You have a double concussion, broken nose, a fractured cheek bone, and severe bruising to your left side. Your cheek and nose should heal in a few weeks my main concern is that concussion of yours. If you start to have seizures or anything of the sort you need to come back here immediately." The doctor said. I nodded my head in agreement and she left the room.

"I'll make them pay for this." Eli said through clenched teeth. I shook my head.

"No, not yet, Eli. Its too dangerous right now to attack them. We should just wait till the All Valley." I said to him. He turned and gave me a bewildered look.

"You're just gonna give up? Or expect me to or anyone else to give up because you're what? Scared?" He asked me. 

"Scared is the last thing emotion I am feeling right now. I am enraged, Eli, but it would be the most stupidest thing in the world to attack them right now. They're expecting it. We have to wait till they aren't expecting it. A few weeks at the least." I said to him.

"She's absolutely right." My dad said, joining our little banter.  Eli huffed and crossed his arms in defeat. 

"Can we go home, Dad? I don't like it here." I said to him and he nodded. He helped me stand up but as soon as my feet touched the floor, my legs went numb and I went tumbling to the ground.
