What did you think I'd say to that?
Does a scorpion sting when fighting back?
They strike to kill

It was the ideal day for lounging around the black lake.
The second term would soon come to an end and before the boys could say 'Mischief managed' they'd be back to write their NEWTS.
The prospect of finishing school and stepping into adulthood was becoming realer as the days went by. James Potter was determined to secure Lily Evans's heart before they graduated.
After all, there was a war brewing and it only served as a reminder to live each day as if it was their last.
James was lazily throwing the golden snitch that he nicked from the storage cupboard up in the air and then catching it. Peter Pettigrew was so amused by this that he would "ooh" and "ahh" whenever James made a good catch.
"You better stop that before Peter wets himself in excitement" Remus Lupin remarked. The scarred boy was lying with his head in Sirius's lap.
"I'm bored, let's do something fun." said Sirius, snatching the snitch away from James.
James now having nothing better to do surveyed the area around him.
Sitting with their toes dipped in the lake was his Lily-flower, Marlene McKinnon and Alice Longbottom.
A group of 4th year Hufflepuffs were picking flowers in the distance. And that was when he spotted Severus Snape making his way down towards them.
"Check" the boy nudged Sirius with his foot.
"Snivellus" James shouted, getting up and brushing the grass from his uniform. He heard Sirius come up behind him, a devilish smirk making its way across his face.
"Expelliarmus" James casted the spell before Snape could point his wand at him and quickly followed up with an Impediment Jinx to make the greasy haired boy fall over.
"Fuck" Snape started muttering curses and hexes in response but all of them failed to find their marks on the two boys.
"Reckon you should clean that mouth of yours Snivellus, didn't mummy tell you it was rude to swear." Sirius said "Scourgify"
Snape's mouth filled with pink bubbles. Lily Evans had now made her way over to the scene after seeing the students crowded around. Of course it would be James Potter involved in something like this. Lily truly enjoyed her time spent with the boy and was mighty disappointed to see him revert back to his old ways. He was doing so well too.
"Leave him alone!"
"Alright Evans." James acknowledged her in greeting.
"Prongs, read the room." Sirius muttered out if the corner of his mouth to his best friend.
Unknowingly to Sirius and James, Snape had gotten back on his feet and muttered his own original curse to make a cut appear on the bespectacled boy's' face.
"You wanker", angered, James Potter retaliated with a "Levicorpus" and watched in childlike glee as Snape was lifted upside down into the air, revealing his underpants.
"A sight for sore eyes Snivellus" Sirius laughed.
"James Potter, let him down!" Lily shouted.
"Be my girlfriend Evans, and I'll let your friend down."
"You are nothing but an arrogant toerag James Potter, who bullies people because he has nothing better to do than be a pathetic child. I would rather go on a date with the giant squid than ever be your girlfriend!"
Shocked and taken-aback, James lowered Snape to the ground. His eyes round and his mouth agape.
So this is what August felt like.
"Severus are you alright?" Lily gently asked.
"I don't need help from filthy little Mudbloods like you." He hissed.
"Apologize to Evans." James was drawn out of his shock as he heard the fowl word aimed at the girl he loved.
"You're no better than him Potter." was the last words Lily Evans said to James as she walked away.
Leaving the two boys who adored her staring after her in heartbreak and guilt.

To say August Williams was exhausted was an understatement.
From studying her ass off for her classes and somehow balancing the excessive amount of subjects she took to attending to her préfer duties too.
She was sick of finding 5th year students lip locked after curfew. Heartbreak had made her a pessimist.
She was functioning off of 4 hours of sleep a night because that was the only amount the universe would let her have before her dreams were invaded with nightmares.
It was as if some sick and cruel joke was being played on her. Maybe it was the Marauders.
It was the last week of school and August was well and ready to go home to her new home in Godric's hollow.
She probably would have been more excited if it wasn't for a brunette boy and her mother.
Ugh, she'd have to endure another month of Odille. She had tried to fill up her break with the likes of Sadie and Lori but Lori was visiting her grandmother in America and had an internship at MACUSA while Sadie's parents were shipping her off to some kind of summer camp for Christians.
Muggles did strange things. A camp dedicated to one man who wore unfashionable sandles. August would have liked to see that but Sadie said that sumner camp would be a walking nightmare for August.
"There are bugs underneath your bed and you smell like campfire smoke the whole time. Not to mention you have to use the bathroom in the dark"
"Don't muggles have electricity?"
"Not in the middle of nowhere."
"Can't God just say 'Let there be light' ?" said Lori, earning a smack across the head from Sadie.
By the looks of it, August would enjoy a peaceful, stress-free, relaxing holiday.
As if!
She could only hope that 3 months away from James Potter had made her immune to the dry mouth and butterflies that his presence caused.
"If worst comes to worst you can go spend some quality time with that Bagshot lady." Lori laughed.
"Yes Lori, and I'll knit you a lovely sweater while she mumbles about the spirits in her house."
A pillow hit August in the face.
