Give you the silence that only comes when two people understand each other
Family that I chose now that I see your brother as my brother
Is it enough?

"No, James, you're not even aiming at this point." August exclaimed as another grape hit her on the forehead.

"It's because you're not holding still." James argued back, "Now get on your knees and open your mouth."

"Kinky" Sirius mused as he watched the two bicker playfully.

August shot him a dirty look too which he just replied by smiling and holding up two thumbs.

"I still don't understand why it couldn't just be the two of us." James grumbled as he took position and aimed for her mouth.

He was a chaser for Godric's sake, he should've been able to make this trick shot.

The boys all held their breath in anticipation, very much aware that it was quite sad how invested they were in James's grape-shooting abilities.

With his one eye closed, James threw the grape in a perfect little arc and landing it right in August's mouth.

The boys cheered and James pumped his fist enthusiastically as August laughed through choking on the grape which she nearly swallowed without chewing.

"I knew you could do it Prongs!" Peter clapped, "My turn." He reached for the bowl.

"Uh uh" August got up and brushed the ground from her knees, it was a warm winter's day and it had allowed her to wear her favorite dusty pink skirt and white camisole. "No one is throwing another grape in my mouth."

"Bugger." Peter said in diss appointment. August had a soft spot for the fourth marauder, he reminded her of a little sibling of some sorts. Always unintentionally left behind and running to catch up.

"James get on your knees." She pushed his shoulders down.

"Gladly." He smirked, licking his lips.

It had been three days since their rekindling and they had yet to kiss, hold hands or do anything intimate but August was determined that she wouldn't make it easy for James, regardless of how badly she wanted to kiss him in that very moment.

His eyes were the softest brown infused with green, as if he held the new spring growth inside. They were the forest floor and the gentle flowers, somewhere to rest and breathe.

"Stop it you tart." She smiled and lightly smacked him over the head. "Here Peter, try choke James with a grape."

James Potter lazed in his living room along with the three other Marauders.

"Well boys, the last stretch is upon us"

"I can't believe we finish school this year." Peter dreamily sighed.

"I'm not sure if we should be too happy about that, there's a war brewing and we best be ready for when it happens." Remus, always the voice of reason.

"Have you guys thought about Dumbledore's proposition yet?" James asked, throwing his snitch that he nicked back from Remus, up into the air and catching it.

"I'm joining." Remus said.

"I go where you go." Sirius interlaced his fingers with the werewolf's and James saw the adoring look Remus sent his way.
