If your cascade ocean wave blues come
All these people think love's for show
But I would die for you in secret

July came and along with it came summer. Small red and pink blossoms bloomed all over the castle grounds and August would stop to collect some that she later displayed in a antique vase in her dorm.

That was until Lori threw them all away because of her allergies.

Summer was August's favourite time of the year, the warm weather and the sun that melted the ice and turned everything green made her mood significantly better.

Not to mention that everything good started in summer. Her birthday, for instance or her friendship anniversary with Lori and Sadie. Summer was like therapy.

August would sit in the sunlight and bask in the peace it brought her, or she'd convince Lori to jump in the Grand lac with her or she'd sit in the Greenhouses and watch as Sadie potted new saplings.

It was as if life begun, the cold was over and she could return to silk dresses and flowers in her hair.

Things were good, better than they had been in a long time.

The first weekend of June, James Potter came to visit for the first time in a while.

August was humming with excitement as she laced up the back of her red dress, she had found it in the same store that Sadie picked up her newest scandalizing red piece. James's favorite colour was red after all, and seeing that she couldn't exactly attend his Quidditch game this was the best she could do to show some team spirit.

James had arranged to meet her in the little village that the French students visited on their Saturdays.

After meeting up with her girls, Sadie was hoping to meet someone in La Dame's bar while Lori planned on meeting up with her bookclub in the local bookstore to choose their newest book for the month.

"Pick the Song of Solomon." Sadie suggested as they lined up for floo powder, skipping the line because of the 7th year privileges.

"No, that book's a bore."

"You're a bore."

"Nice comeback."

James Potter's first impression was that this would be the perfect place to grow old.

He could imagine waking up in the mornings and walking down to the small café that smelt like freshly baked bread then leaving to meet up with the lads in the pub and on his way home stopping at the small record store to buy his wife the newest record and new sheet music so that they could dance in the kitchen and later settle down and wrap his arms around her waist as her fingers played the instrument and the strings of his heart at the same time.

He was snapped out of his daydream when two palms were placed over his eyes, enveloping him in darkness, the smell of vanilla invading his senses.

"I wonder who it could be." He mused, a small smirk playing at his mouth.

"You're not easy to scare are you?" She laughed from behind him and his smirk transformed into a full-blown smile.

God, he loved her.

"Hello you." He caught her lips in a sweet kiss before pulling back to admire her.

Her skin was tanner and the dark circles under her eyes were mostly gone. She looked healthier and significantly happier.
