Sadie Austin didn't have the energy or the emotional stability to be the middleman between August and Lori.

August, being a Leo, and Lori, an Aquarius, meant that as friends they might seem unlikely but being complete opposites meant that they were an explosive duo.

All Sadie wanted to do was enjoy the only class she liked, astronomy. Instead, she was playing peacemaker between the two.

Lori was angry, rebellious and impatient while August was egoistic, self-centered and stubborn.

Sadie being friends with the two girls knew their weaknesses and strengths like the back of her hand. Of course it had nothing to do with the astronomers handbook she kept with her at all times.

From an outsider looking in, it probably seemed unlikely that they would ever apologize and play nice. But Sadie knew different.

But Lori was intelligent and would with time begin to see past her own anger and look at things from August's perspective and August had a big-heart which would guide her to forgiving Lori and seeing that it was all just a friend looking out for a friend, and accepting that there was truth in Lori's words.

However, Sadie wished it would come sooner.

Fuck time, she was all but too tempted to just lock them in a room together and have them have it for one another.

"Sadie, could you please tell Lori that she has to stop hogging the telescope and let others have a turn?" August asked, doodling something in her notebook.

"Sadie, would you tell August that she doesn't even need the telescope because she never actually does work anyway and just leeches off of other people's work."

"Oh, I'm sorry. Did you forget that everything is apparently always about me?" August asked, a sickly sweet smile playing on her lips.

"Girls! Less talking more working."

"Sorry Madame Rielle." Sadie apologized, pushing Sadie out of the way and looking at the constellations they were meant to jot down.

"Stop hogging it Lori, and August do your bloody work for once."

Both girls gave a huff of annoyance before going their separate ways.

Finally some peace.

"Thank God you're here, I've had the absolute worst week." August sighed as she wrapped her arms around James's neck, taking a deep breath of the wood and smoke scent.

"Oh, believe me. I relate." James muttered back. Dipping his head into the crook of her neck.

After his shouting match with Lily and the kiss, James was riddled with guilt. It felt like it was eating him inside.

He was back in the exact place he was a few months ago, except this time things were tenfold more complicated.

James knew that he wanted to marry August, he loved her more than anything else. But he also knew that he had unresolved feelings for Lily and when they were together, it was like a spark that burned out was ignited again.

He has successfully avoided any interactions with Lily, when he saw her heading in his direction he'd go the opposite way. It was exhausting but he was determined for nothing else to ever happen between them.
