I'd give you my sunshine, give you my best
But the rain is always gonna come if you're standing with me
But I'm a fire and I'll keep your brittle heart warm

James Potter was moping and Sirius Black wasn't a big fan of it.

"Come on, don't be such a killjoy Prongs. Let's go to the pub or something."

"There is no point in life. I am alone." The words came out muffled as James buried his face in his pillow.

"He literally got laid last night." Sirius said too Peter and James.

The three were currently standing at the foot of his bed trying to lure the boy out of bed to enjoy the rare sunny day.

"It's the perfect day to cause trouble James. Get up." Sirius pulled hopelessly at the boy's feet but all he got was a groan and a rather rude hand gesture in response.

"Prongs you're being a baby." Remus spoke up "We're going to explore the woods and we're leaving now, with or without you."

"Nice try Moony, I live here, I've seen every part of that wood." James scoffed "You can't even call it a wood. It's literally a few trees and a bush."

"We're leaving." Remus ushered the other two boys out.

James rolled over on the bed and darted off after them, there was no way he'd just let them get rid of him and his pitiful mood.

"Wait up, I'm coming!" James shouted down the stairs as he pulled his shoes on whilst hopping on one foot.

"Told you it would work." Remus nudged Sirius with his elbow.

"Sadie!"

August was barely out of the fireplace before two arms wrapped around her.

From under long brown bangs shone eyes the colour of wet earth, and below that a nose so freckled that the brown splotches overlapped much like fall leaves after a wind storm. Her smile was warm and August felt a sense of comfort and acceptance that she only felt around Sadie and Lori.

"How have you been." The girl asked excitedly as she dragged August out of the fireplace.

"It's been a rollercoaster." August replied laughing at the girl's enthusiasm. "Tell me about your brawl Sadie."

"Ugh" Sadie rolled her eyes. "I'd rather not think of it ever again, it was so out of character."

"I had to reread your letter to make sure I was reading it right."

"Basically there was this stick in the mud bitch, Emily Sanderson was her name, and she kept on making comments about me and whatnot. Saying I was strange, which I am but like, you don't say that to someone's face." Sadie scrunched up her face in frustration. "She made my blood boil, absolutely loathe her. But you know, I ignored her and did what the Lord would want me to do."

August stared at her blankly, not familiar with what 'the Lord' wanted Sadie to do.

"Turn the other cheek, August."

"Oh"

"Yes, well I did just that and tried to continue reading my Psalms in peace when one day she called this little 12 year old boy the f-slur for being friends with all the girls and not really mixing with the boys. I mean he was 12 and she just yells at him that he's going to hell because she assumed he was gay."
