It's hard to be anywhere these days
When all I want is you
You're a flashback in a film reel
On the one screen in my town

this is me trying

"James get back up." August exclaimed in shock.

Was he absolutely mental, they were 17 for Merlin's sake and knew nothing of marriage.

"What" James stared up on her, still holding the Ruby ring, if it wasn't so priceless she would've smacked it right out of his hand.

"Get up." She motioned, trying to calm her wildly beating heart.

The last thing she was expected
was for her boyfriend to get down on one knee.

Admitted, it was rather romantic but August didn't even know if she ever wanted to get married. She knew she certainly didn't want to at such a young age, there was a world to see and things to do. A life with James before they said vows and walked down an isle.

August was also terrified, she knew next to nothing about her father, only that he left her mother desperate and stranded. Realistically, she knew James wasn't her father. James was kind and loyal and brave. But what if?

"Why do I have to get up, August?" James spoke, there was a crease between his brow and his lips were pinched together.

"Because I'm not ready, I don't- I, James I can't, not right now."

"Not right now? Then when August. You do know that the world might be ending soon and us with it. Why not marry me?"

"Why do we have to get married to  be happy, why can't we stay like this?" She asked helplessly. She wished James would just get up and put that bloody ring away.

"Because I want to spend the rest of my life with you, however short it may be."

"James I don't want to marry you!" August shouted. "Don't you get it, the way you broke my heart was brutal. You cut my soul more than you ever kissed it and you stood there and watched me bawl my eyes out. Buy I stayed, time and time again."

Her voice dialed down, "I'm still waiting for you to pack up and leave again. To just never come back. And I will always love you more than you love me."

"So forgive me James, if I don't want to marry you. This isn't something I can just rush into."

"August" James whispered painfully as he slowly got to his feet. "You must know, that I never intended for any of it. Never knew that I could ever hurt someone I love like this."

"But I am so in love with you, I'd scream it to the heavens if I could."

He took her smaller hand in his, and gently slipped the ring on. A perfect fit.

"Let me show you how sorry I am." He whispered, bending his neck down and placing the most delicate kiss on her neck.

August stared at the ring on her finger in horror and adoration.

"Forgive me." His hands traveled down her back.

"Forgive me." He fell down into his knees infront of her, his hands wrapping around the back of her calves.

"Forgive me." His fingers trailed up her stockings and in one swift movement tore the fabric that covered her long legs.

"You are the only woman I will ever get on my knees for." He looked up and her brown eyes met his.
