I moved around a bit in my chair as I absentmindedly read chat. I had been sitting alone in a Discord call, waiting for anyone to join. Niki had said that she would earlier, but something had come up, leaving me alone to think of something to do.

The plan had been to start a new survival world on Minecraft with Niki, but now I was doing absolutely nothing. "Change of plans, guys. I'm just gonna talk to you until I think of something to do." I chuckled.

The robotic voice of a donation came through my headphones. "Hi Medusa! When did you dye your hair?"

I smiled and ran my fingers through my teal hair. "Cut and dyed it last night. I'm looking more like me again, yeah?" I hadn't dyed or cut my hair since the lockdown had begun. Usually Bea would dye my hair, but she was an ocean away from me. I had put it off for months because it felt wrong to do without her.

I had been visiting my grandparents when the travel ban to America was put into place, forcing me to stay in Newhaven. Once I realized how much of a health risk I was for my grandparents to have around, I found a place to stay in Brighton, only twenty minutes away from them in case of an emergency. That was where I had been stuck for five months.

I hadn't been to England since my parents and I had moved to America when I was seven, so I decided to come over and visit a couple weeks after my nineteenth birthday. If I had known that I'd be stuck in a country I barely remembered, I wouldn't have gone.

The only thing that kept me attached to my birth country was the accent that every American was convinced I had. Every British person I knew was convinced I had an American accent though, so there really was no winning in either country I held citizenship to.

Brighton wasn't bad. I didn't hate it like I did other places I had lived, but life was strange without Sean and Bea with me.

I heard the sound of someone joining the call. "Mel, you look like you're going to bark at me."

I rolled my eyes at Will's comment. "I just might. Don't act like you haven't seen my hair like this before."

"Last time I saw your hair like that, you were calling me a bottom bitch boy." Wilbur quoted the exact reason why we had become friends. I had managed to get into his episode of Love or Host and mercilessly roasted him.

Niki and I had quickly befriended each other because I had been nothing but nice to the other contestants and she was such a sweetheart. Will didn't take too long to message me either. We weren't all that close at the time, but when I found myself stuck in England, he was the only person I could turn to.

Will was far too kind to me and I ended up sleeping on his couch for a week while I looked for an apartment to rent in Brighton. It was kind of impossible for us to not become close after he had been so kind to me.

"I was looking for love." I joked.

"You chose host." He pointed out.

"As I should, honestly." I chuckled. "It's not like I was gonna win anyways."

Will grumbled something before changing the subject. "You didn't tell me you were dying your hair."

  "You didn't ask." I smirked.

"How would I even know to ask?" He questioned with a chuckle.

"You just should've." I shrugged. "Plus, what were you gonna do about it? You don't know shit about hair dye."

"But I could've laughed at you." He suggested.

"Yeah, that would be just wonderful, Will." I rolled my eyes. "Why would I want to hang out with you if you're just gonna laugh at me?"

"I could've brought cookies n cream ice cream." Will used my weakness against me.

I groaned, upset on missing out. "See, if you had told me that earlier I would've accepted."

Another donation came through. "Are you going on the next Love or Host?"

I laughed. "I think they might be onto me at this point. If any of the contestants know me, they're gonna automatically vote me off. I couldn't even stay for long with Schlatt's and his was decided by chat." I had a trend of flipping a coin to choose love or host that was exposed by Will about a month ago. It caused a tiny bit of chaos within the community.

"I mean, it's a 50/50 shot." Will laughed. "I swear that coin always chooses host."

I shrugged. "It kinda does. Who even is the next contestant?"

Will paused for a moment to think. "Oh wait, it's George. You should talk to Austin."

I could hear the mischievous grin in his words and snickered. "You know him?"

  "You'd scare him." He replied.

I laughed. "If he's at all like you, I'm sure I would."

"You don't scare me, Mel." He scoffed.

"Sure, I don't." I looked to the side in doubt before giggling. "Even if I don't scare you now, I certainly scared you then."

"I never said that." He argued.

"But, Niki did." I smiled innocently at the camera mounted above my monitor.

"She didn't." Will muttered.

I burst into laughter. "You're right, but you just confirmed that you were scared of little old me."

"I never said that." He repeated.

I listened as another donation came in. "Are you guys comfortable with shipping?"

I tried to hold back my need to cringe at the idea of being in a romantic relationship with Will. "Uh, I don't care generally, but please be aware that's never gonna happen."

"I care. I'd really prefer if you guys didn't do that kind of stuff with my friends and I." Will piped up.

I pointed to the camera. "There's your answer. No shipping. Will said no."

He chuckled at me. "You're being weird."

I held my hands up in surrender. "Yeah, okay, bottom bitch boy."

"See, that's what I mean." He swiftly changed the subject. "Are you gonna apply for George's Love or Host?"

I shrugged. "Maybe. Think I should?"

"I think it'd be funny." He reasoned.

I smiled. "Well, I can't deny the people of funny content, now, can I?" I looked around my desk for a penny. "Will, heads or tails?"

"Am I love or host?" He questioned.

"Well, I'm not gonna tell you." I chuckled as I found a penny. "Heads or tails?"

"Heads." Will decided which side would represent host.

I picked up the penny and flipped it onto the back of my hand. I took my top hand off and kept my face neutral for the sake of being live. "Heads."

"Is that a good thing or a bad thing?" He chuckled.

I shrugged and held back my smirk. "Guess you'll just have to find out."
