Third pov

The fact that she's cut her hair barely registers in Han's mind until Elise mentions it on her own.

"Is it ugly? I tried to get it as even as possible, but, well, it was a bit more difficult than I thought."

Her hair is a lot shorter than it used to be, not pixie cut, longer than that but still not anywhere near reaching her shoulders. "It looks good. Felt like a change?"

"Something like that."

More than that wasn't time for saying as the residents of the place slowly started piling into the kitchen for breakfast.

Sean and Twinkie pulled Elise into a conversation about a car they were currently fixing for a client.

"Han?"

He turned his head to look at Reiko and Earl. "Yeah?"

"Are we still having the party this weekend?"

He'd actually forgotten about that. "Yeah, that's the plan. Got any plans?"

Reiko nodded. "I'm taking Eli and Neela for a girls day. Then we're getting food and, if Elise is okay with it, a makeover."

"Sounds good. Call me if you need anything."

Reiko nodded and went over to talk to Elise.

Time skip

The girls came back late but all looked happy.

Han could see that Elise' hair had been fixed a bit better and she was wearing a new outfit. Ripped jeans and a black tanktop with a giant skull on it.

"E, think you could give me a hand?" Sean called out from under one of the cars.

******************************************************

Elise went over to the car Sean was underneath. "What do you need?"

"Can you take a look at the engine. Tell me if you see anything wrong."

The engine, to be frank, looked awful.

Like, really awful.

"It's easier to say what's not wrong. Who came in with this?" She asked making Sean laugh.

"It was Mrs Watanabe-"

"The lady that smells like tuna? Was her cat still in the car this time?"

All activity around them stopped, something Elise missed because she was still poking around in the engine.

Earl and Tosh were looking at each other, Reiko and Twink were looking around to see if anyone else heard what she'd said while Han was looking right at Elise with just the slightest hint of surprise.

Sean laughed. "Nah, the cat wasn't in the car this time."

"Poor cat, such a cute one too. All black and white and so fluffy."

The cat was indeed black and white and super fluffy. Elise had also been the one to keep an eye on it until the owner could come get it.

"Anyone want cupcakes?"

Neela came inside with a bag in her hand, most likely something that Takashi had brought.

He didn't mind doing some favours sometimes, but he wasn't stepping inside the garage.

"Got strawberry cupcakes?"

Neela nodded with a smile. "Yup."

"Sweet~."

Elise grabbed two cupcakes from the ones the other woman had put on the table. She handed the chocolate one to Han as the others swarmed the table.

"Thanks sunshine."

This is the first chapter in a while. The next will have more action in it.

Elise is slowly remembering small things, but she's not always aware of it. Like, she's not thinking about it.
