Time skipNeela found them a place to sit in peace and got them each a drink.
"Talk to me."
Elise sipped the drink. "What's there to say, you know most of it already."
Neela made an agreeing noise. "I do know most of it, but that's stuff I've learned from a lot of people. Why don't you tell me your side of it?"
With Neela being willing to listen, she spilled everything. Neela listened patiently to her, not once looking annoyed or anything.
At the end Elise felt a lot better. "I'm just- I lost almost everything in my life, don't get me wrong, my friends are still there, but I can barely remember half of the stuff we've done over the years. Stuff like inside jokes and shared memories, I'm missing that. And to find out that not only has my boyfriend not bothered to tell me about our relationship, neither has my friends."
By this point they were both sipping on a glass of water each. "I know it's not very comforting, but I know they didn't tell you because they were working on making Han tell you. I think they figured it would be better that you heard it from him."
She was right, it wasn't very comforting, but Elise did understand. "Do you think I should talk to him?"
"I think you'd feel better if you did." Neela answered honestly. "Besides, Han has some enemies, if they find out you're dating him, you and Han need to be on the same wavelength."

Meeting Takashi's uncle again had been nothing short of stiff and tense. Han was relieved to go back to the garage.
"Talk with her." Takashi demanded before dropping him off.
Takashi had made damn sure he knew what he thought about Han's resent life choices.
He's not very surprised to see Elise waiting for him when he enters. Suspiciously, everyone else is gone.
Knowing them, they're hiding from the inevitable conversation between him and Elise.
"We need to talk."
He nods in agreement. "Come on, we can talk in my room."
She follows closely, quietly watching him until they're inside his room. There she plopped down on the bed and crossed his arm.
"Neela told me that we should talk this out instead of letting it fester. I guess Takashi said something too."
He cracks a smile. "In not as nice terms, yes."
They share a laugh, then it goes quiet. This time it's because he wants to hear her out first.
"Why wouldn't you tell me?" She asks. "I spent months in the hospital trying to remember my life. Why didn't you talk to me? You didn't even visit!"
He doesn't have to think about the answers. "I had a girlfriend before you, she died in a traumatic way, seeing you in hospital was-" He tried to come up with a way to say it that didn't make him sound like an ass. "I couldn't handle it. Not after the first time."
He sighed. "I didn't say anything because you were already trying to piece together yourself. Throwing a relationship in there didn't seem like a good idea. Besides, you can't tell someone they love you."
Elise is quiet, picking at a thread on her shirt. Han let's her pull her thoughts together, pushing her won't end well and he knows that.
"Can we do this and be honest from now on? Including talking about the people you pissed off, and are currently following me. Because I can't do this otherwise."
Just her voice alone sounds drained.
"I promise to be honest with you." It's a promise he can keep. "What do you want to know about first?"

Talking about everything, going through Han's reasons for not talking with her and then talking about their relationship and setting boundaries for everything going forward, it eased the tension in the garage significantly.Except for the dressing down Elise gave everyone for not talking to her.
Life went back to a somewhat normal after that though, just with Han and Elise showing affection with each other some times. She was still hesitant and Han was content with taking it at her pace.
However, there still was the problem Kane Watanabe and his friends.
According Takashi their tries to get into the territory weren't all especially successful, but being careful wouldn't hurt. Kane had already approached one of them after all.
"How come your uncle is okay with you keeping us updated?" Elise asked the next time Takashi visited.
"Most likely he sees it as 'the enemy of my enemy, is my friend'. He doesn't like Han, but Han is still capable of staying in his lane. These guys aren't." He replied.
She nods thoughtfully at the answer.
