Third pov
Elise felt like it was starting to become normal for her bruises to have bruises.
And even if she was mad at her dad she was grateful for all the self defense classes he signed her up for. The only remotely parent thing he did. If he hadn't she would've had even more bruises.
The last year had been incredibly hectic and as Ramsey tried to apologize to Safar, she felt everything catch up to her.
For the first time since the car crash she felt exhausted and wanted nothing more than to crawl in a hole and hibernate.
When they reached the room where they could change she did so quickly. Eyes avoiding the old bruises and the ones forming.
"I'm not going up against Shaw." She heard Han stop moving, before he answered.
"Okay."
There was something in his eyes when she looked at him that made her feel weird. Like he wasn't seeing her, like he was seeing someone else. For a brief moment the picture of his last girlfriend flashed in her memory and she felt.... Insecure.
She'd heard the stories. She knew Giselle would never have stayed behind.
But she wasn't Giselle.
And she would never be.

When the team found out Dom and Brian went without them there was many unhappy faces.
Elise watched them.
The team was close knit and made her miss her own "team" in Japan.
During the trip to LA, Han and Elise didn't speak much. Elise processing the last month in her head and the newfound, frustrating jealousy for a dead woman.
Han was thinking about the memories from before the clash with Owen Shaw. Before Japan. Before the kids back there. Before Elise....
Han watched as Elise sat deep in thought. He knew it was unfair of him to see any kind of comparison between her and Giselle, but he couldn't help it sometimes.
So different from each other but both knew how to take care of themselves. The difference being the reasons to have for nedding to learn how to fight for themselves.
It struck him as a slightly odd thought, the two only females he had gone into a relationship with could both kick his ass.
Time skip.
"I'm all for winging it, but this is crazy man. We got mercenaries with some real heat on us. I mean, I ain't scared of nothing but... Man, I don't even have a gun."
They stood together, looking over the streets most of them knew as home.
Dom looked at Roman. "Gun? We got a whole city."
Tej added on. "And we may have more than that. If they use God's eye, it'll tap the cameras around town to find our location. Which means we could plant a virus."
"And then break in when they access it. So you're talking about hacking my hacking device. That's brilliant." Ramsey looked impressed.
"Yeah, but there's one problem. The signal strength. We can't start a hack on them until they're within a two-mile range."
"That's close." Han mumbled as he ate his chips. Elise had her own bag of gummy bears.
Rome gave him a look. "Close? Those guys are military. If they're in a two-mile radius of us we're already dead. I don't know about you guys but I didn't plan on dying today."
Elise swallowed the candy she was eating. "Only way to stay alive is if we play hot potato with Ramsey."
Ramsey had a catious look. "What?"
"So a big game of hot potato, eh?"
Elise nodded.
"Which car is the potato?"
Tej looked at her. "Girl, you are the potato."
Elise felt bad for the girl.
Elise is trying to work through the problems in her head alone.
Han is seeing the similarities between Giselle and Elise.
