When I wake up I notice mom, Gugu's mom and Eric sleeping. I wonder how Eric ended up here, how he explained his presence. I chuckle at my thought only to wake them all up.

"Somebody's awake"

Gugu's mom says, I smile faintly

"Are you in any pain?"

Eric asks standing by the end of my bed, I shake my head

"I feel fine. How long was I out, you look like you've been in hibernation for a month"

They all laugh

"A week. I couldn't leave until I was sure you're out of danger"

He explains and mom smiles

"He's a good friend"

Mom says eyeing me and I chuckle

"Snowflake are you certain you not in any kind of pain?"

I roll my eyes at him. I'm glad Gugu's not here.

"You people need to rest"

I say and they laugh

"Glad to see you making jokes"

Mom says

"Guys I'm serious. I am fine, I feel fine"

I say but Eric is not convinced, I've opened up so much to him that he knows me all too well.

"I'll go call your Doctor"

He says walking out and that give these two women an opposed to bombard me with questions

"He seems nice"

Gugu's mom says and mom nods

"He is"

I answer dismissively

"He's a doctor too"

I roll my eyes at mom

"How old is he?"

I shrug looking down

"25"

I say, he's turning 28 this year and I'm turning 18 so that's gonna be a problem

"Not to old. He's perfect, any kids?"

I shake my head, Eric lost his fiance and unborn child 3 years ago to a situation similar to mine but they don't need to know.

"Glad to see my patient is awake. You scared us, mostly him"

She says nodding towards Eric and we all laugh

"Ncoooh mahn. I'm lucky"

I say smiling at him

"Can I have a few minutes with my patient. I need to make sure that she and the baby are both Ok. Doc you can stay, I might need your help"

She says, the parents don't argue and leave peacefully. She lowers the blankets revealing my tummy. She applies gel on it and moves the scanner around

"Are you in any pain?"

She asks and I shake my head no

"No, when you move it to there it hurts"

She nods

"That's the part where we operated on. It will heal with time"

I nod with a faint smile

"Doc please pass me that"
