"Gugu"

Mom says walking over to hug me, I hug her back

"Hey mom, how is he?"

I ask as she breaks the hug, she shrugs

"They haven't told me anything. Its been over 10 hours Gugu and I haven't heard anything about my husband Gugu"

She says with a failing voice. I didn't even start home I just drove straight to the hospital. My phone's been off ever since I left pta. I switch it on and I have missed calls from Sebe and mostly from Sakhile.

"How bad was it?"

I ask and she lets out a sigh

"It was bad Gugu. A drunk driver drove into him, the driver didn't make it and your father is fighting for his life"

She says, I pull her to me and kiss the top of her head

"How about you go home and take a shower and come back later. I'll keep you posted"

I suggest and she breaks away from me

"You the one that needs a shower here"

She says and I chuckle making her laugh too

"Oh wow mom, so I stink?"

I say poking her and she smiles hitting my hand away

"You started it"

She says and I chuckle rolling my eyes

"Lets both go and come back after eating and showering ok"

I suggest and she shakes her head no

"What if he wakes up and I'm not there?"

She asks with worry and sadness unmissable on her beautiful face, I cup her face

"We will have someone call us the minute he's out of danger ok?"

I say and she's a little hesitant but my hand is held out to her so she takes it and we walk to the receptionist. We ask the receptionist to call us the minute dad is out of surgery and she says she will. We drive behind each other and head home. We shower and after my shower I call Sakhile.

"Doesn't flipping do that! You safe? How's uncle?"

He asks sounding concerned

"Still in surgery, I just finished washing and then mom and I go back. How's Sebe?"

I ask, he sighs

"I don't know. Bulo said she wasn't ok"

He says sounding dismissive

"I told her about your father"

He says and I sigh. She did not need to know that with everything going on in her life

"you shouldn't have, she's dealing with a lot"

I say

"So are you. Have you spoken to her?"

He asks and I shake my head no as if he can see me

"No"

I say finally

"How long do you plan on ignoring her? Gugu she didn't ask for this. If anyone here is to blame its that that prick Sabelo. You can't make Sebe pay for something she didn't do on purpose"

He says, more like reprimands me

"She's keeping it Sakhile! She has a choice to abort but she wants to keep it."
