We all turn to Sakhile with hopes

"What?"

We all ask in unison; we'd probably be laughing at this if my baby's life wasn't at stake

"We managed to get a hold of the other piece of the machine leaving them at a disadvantage"

He says, I sigh

"Now we'll never get her"

Mbali says sitting on her father's chair running her hands on her face

"Flower this is the only way we'll be able to get her. If they don't have all the pieces of the machine, then they'll have no choice but to hand her back to us in exchange for the piece"

I shake my head

"Even if we go that route it still doesn't let Sebe off the hook. As long as the machine exists then Sebe will always have a target on her back"

I say frustrated. This thing only gets harder

"So what? What do we do to get Mili back?"

Sakhile asks annoyed, I understand my cousin is trying to help but I feel like he's made the situation worse

"Let Sabelo have me and end this"

Sebe suggests and I chuckle sarcastically

"Never going to happen Cuddles"

I say and she sulks. Mbali's father's phone rings. He answers it and judging by his tone and face he is unhappy. He ends the call

"So?"

Mbali asks

"That was Miso. He says the auction site has been shut down"

He says clearly angry

"We were this close to getting her"

I chuckle

"We all know that Sabelo and his people were never going to hand her over that easily. They want Sebe and if they get their hands on her its game over. We'll only ever get Mili when they accomplish what they want"

I say breathing heavily. I walk out with Sakhile and leave Sebe with everyone in the office

"So, what do you want us to do?"

Sakhile asks

"I want us to find the machine and destroy it. It shouldn't exist"

I say and Sakhile looks at me shook

"That's crazy!"

Says a female voice behind us and I notice its Sebe's mother

"What's crazy is the fact that that machine even exists! The day you created that thing you put your daughter's life at risk!"

I yell clenching my fingers

"I only created that thing to help her. That machine was supposed to help her control the dreams that taunt her! I didn't create it for this."

She tries to explain but to me it all sounds like b.s

"there are no dreams taunting her. Sebe doesn't need that thing to control her dreams. We are going to destroy that machine whether you like it or not"

I say and walk away but she grabs my arm. I look at her hand and then up at her

"I understand you love her but if you destroy it then everything, we've worked so hard to build will all go to waste"
