We drive in utter silence, thank God I switched her phone off because Lesh wont stop calling. I get to res and she gets out first and runs to my place, I follow behind her until we get to my place. I open the door, I’m even surprised she came to my place and didn’t go to hers.

“Cuddles”

I start off but she turns to me

“No! Don’t! you lied to me Gugulezwe. You watched me suffer all these months dreaming about this woman”

She says angrily

“Mahlubi”

“NO! don’t you dare! You lied to me Gugulezwe. How the hell am I supposed to trust anything you say to me from hereon? You hid my parents from me! Do you realise how big that is?”

She yells and I swear that dream I had a year ago is coming true. I’ve never seen her this hurt and angry. She sits down and buries her face in her hands. I sit next to her and place a hand on her back but she yanks her body away from me

“Don’t you dare touch me”

She says and I notice her sobbing judging by her shoulders. I sigh

“When I found out Mbali was pregnant she had Sakhile recruit me to join under her father’s gang in order to protect me from her father hurting me.”

I sigh but she doesn’t even say anything

“After I was recruited I got to know about your parents and they told me that they left you when you were young to protect you from themselves and the troubles that they would bring to you if they had stayed. I learnt that you special”

I say

“Special?”

She asks sounding really confused but still with her face buried in her hands

“Yes, special. I learnt that theres a machine that had been created to interpret your dreams. Sebe you not like any normal person. You the reason I even got out of hospital sooner and healed quicker, you the reason I healed fast when Sabelo had smashed me last year.”

She shakes her head

“No, nothing about what you saying makes any sense”

I nod

“I know. The dreams you were having only got stronger when I broke your virginity, I apparently make you stronger and your emotional state can lead you to dream about what happens in the future and that’s exactly why they want you. They want to use you and your dreams in order to find out how to rule over the world or something like that but all I know is that with all the parts of the machine complete all they need is you and then they can use you for malicious acts”

I let out a deep breath. I’m worried by how quiet she is.

“I know I lied but all the dreams I’ve had have told me that this was never my news to share and that you were supposed to meet your parents the way you did today. I know I was wrong for keeping them a secret from you and I am really sorry Sthandwa sam but I had no choice”
