Pretty lies, Ugly truth

  Ranboo's hand shook, "I- I need to go, " Ranboo tried to say.

Panic visible on his face Ranboo stared back and Nightmare and Techno, "Now that's going to be a problem, " Techno said.

Ranboo felt as if an anvil had been dropped onto him, he tried to not panic to no avail.

"Wilbur wait up here, " Techno said, Ghostbur nodded and walked back in shutting the door behind him.

Techno walked by grabbing Nightmare's shoulder and pulling him with him, motioning for Ranboo to follow him.

Ranboo was frozen for a second, debating whether he should try to make a break for it.

He decided against it as Techno would easily be able to catch up to him and he wasn't about to leave Ghostbur here either.

"Are you coming or do I have to drag you down here?" Techno said getting annoyed.

Ranboo didn't respond, he followed Techno down to the second floor of his house.

There was an awkward silence as Techno and Nightmare stared at him.

Techno sighed, "you don't seem stupid, so I'm guessing you know why I'm not letting you leave, " Ranboo nodded.

"So you know who he is?" Techno asked already knowing the answer.

Ranboo considered playing dumb for a moment, but he knew that Techno wasn't stupid.

Ranboo nodded, "Tommy, why did you do it?" Ranboo finally spoke.

A cold silence once again spread across the room, "I was betrayed Ranboo, I don't expect you to understand, " Tommy spoke for the first time.

"No, you were manipulated, " Ranboo shot back, "Dream cares more than Tubbo ever did!" Tommy snapped.

"You're not the first one he lied to!" Ranboo commented.

"Tommy, go, " Techno said, "What?"

"I said go, go find Dream before Wilbur hears you yelling like an idiot, " Techno said, "fine-"

"And tell him to get back here, I'm not dealing with this, " Techno told Tommy.

  Tommy sighed, fixated his mask tighter to his face, and left.

  "Does this mean I can go?" Ranboo asked hopefully, "No, " Techno blatantly replied.

  Ranboo didn't expect him to say yes but was still disappointed in the outcome.

  Ranboo could hear Ghostbur asking Tommy why he was leaving before getting no reply but the closing of a door.

  Techno turned around and began rummaging through his chests, clearly not looking for anything, maybe using it as an excuse to avoid the awkward silence.

  "Techno?" Ranboo got the fancy dressed man's attention.

  Techno sighed and turned around, "Yes?" he said in a tone of voice that told Ranboo he was annoyed if the face hadn't already given it away.

  "Why was he here? Why does he want everyone to think he's dead? Why-" Ranboo spoke very fast before Techno cut him off.

  "Even if I could understand what you just said, I'm not answering your questions, plus I know about as much as you do," Techno replied before walking past Ranboo and upstairs.

  Ranboo waited a second to see if Techno would return, after he didn't Ranboo stepped over to the door.

  He reached out his hand to open it but a voice from upstairs stopped him, "Don't even try the door is locked, and even if it wasn't I could easily hunt you done in a matter of seconds."

  Ranboo knew he was right but still tried to open the door.

Although a quick jog at the handle confirmed that it was locked.

  With really no other opinions other than to sit down there alone or go upstairs and wait for either someone to come to his rescue or Dream to show up, he when upstairs.

  "I'm guessing you still tried to open the door, " Techno said when he saw Ranboo.

  He knew lying would get him nowhere so he silently nodded.

  Techno sat reading a book, the cover read Dremons.

  The strange word or species whatever it was, seemed almost familiar to Ranboo but he shook it off as just déjà vu.

  "Techno can we go home yet?" Ghostbur asked.

  "You gotta stay for a while Wil, " Techno responded.

  "Why?"

  "Because you know something others can't know Wil."

  Ghostbur seemed unsatisfied with the answer but didn't bother Techno further.

  What had seemed like days but was mostly only an hour had passed before a knock on the door was heard.

  Ranboo stomach tied into a knot, when the door opened he was either going to see someone coming to help, or the man who would do everything but help.

  He knew which was more likely.

  Niki knocked on Phil's door, she tapped her boot against the ground as she waited for Phil to open the door.

  She was a nervous wreck, she fiddled with her hair, twisting it and twirling it around her finger.

  The door opened with a creak, "Oh, hey Niki, " Phil greeted her.

  "Hi Phil, you wouldn't happen to know where Ranboo is, specifically where he went with Ghostbur?"

  "Well Ranboo came looking for Dream and asked Wil, Wil said he didn't know but they went to go look for him," Phil explained.

  "What? They when after Dream!" Niki said now in full panic.

  "Yeah, did they not come back?"

  "No,"

  Phil stopped and thought for a second before sighing, "I've got an idea of where they may be, I'll go find them, "

  "I'll come with, " Niki added.

  "No no, I'd rather do this myself, " Phil said before setting off.

  "Come in!" Techno yelled.

  The door creaked open, "I was told you couldn't deal with a child and a ghost, " Dream stepped in.

  Ranboo sat the feeling like someone had punched him in the gut.

  "Well, enderman kid over here figured out who you know who is, " Techno said shutting his book.

  "Hm, that complicates things," Dream said.

  "I have an idea, " Techno said.

  "No, we're not going to kill him, " Dream spoke.

  "I do not have an idea."

  Ranboo sat on the flood with his legs crossed.

  He felt slightly relieved that Dream didn't want him dead, although he had no clue why he wouldn't just kill him.

  Dream looked to the side, he seemed to notice the book Techno had put down, "Reading about Dremons?"

  "Yeah, you guys are weird, " Techno said.

  "Hurtful, well I'm only half, unfortunately, can't see the future and shit, " Dream said.

  The minimal relief Ranboo had was immediately destroyed.

  Whatever Dremons is, Dream is one of them.
