"This isn't what I agreed to. I agreed to the destruction of L'manburg, not to watch you manipulate a child. We haven't even got into a single fight."

"Techno, you want this country gone, well this is how it's done, " Dream shot back.

"Don't try that, this is how it's done, crap with me! I'm not stupid, you can't trick me like Tommy or that pathetic group of idiots you call a team!"

"You have no goddamn right to insult George or Sapnap! You know what I don't need you! I can do this on my own!" Dream regretted his words the second they escaped his mouth.

"Good, because I'm out of here. I'll take L'manburg down myself." Techno turned to leave.

"Don't let the door hit you on your way out!" Dream offended.

  The door slammed shut.

Realization hit him.

They had just lost their strongest weapon because Dream couldn't hold his tongue.

He shook his head, with Techno also went their alliance with Philza.

He would end up losing some, if not all, of Wilbur's trust. Although it was unlikely Wilbur was leaving Dream's side anytime soon.

He glanced to the side.

A book that looked extremely old sat to the side of him.

Its cover was torn and tattered, its color faded, and its pages a yellowish hue.

There was writing on the front but it was so worn out it was near impossible to read, all you could tell is that the writing was in a different language.
__________

"I'm bored, " Wilbur drug out his words.

"I'm gonna kill him. I gonna kill him!" Tubbo got severely annoyed with Will's constant complaining of boredom.

"Go on then Tubbo, kill me, " Wilbur taunted him.

Tubbo stepped forward.

Eret put their arm put in front of Tubbo, "We're not killing anyone."

Eret sighed.

They pulled their arm away from Tubbo and turned to Wilbur.

Wilbur smiled, looking almost proud of himself for annoying the hell out of Tubbo.

"Wilbur we just... please Will just help us out. What do you know?" Eret pleaded with him.

Wilbur grinned, leaning closer toward Eret. Or at least as far as he could with his hands bound behind his back and tied to a chair.

"I ain't saying shit, " Wilbur jeered.

"Be reasonable Will, you can't think you're in the right."

"Oh no I know I'm not, but being the good guy gets boring after a while. Doesn't it Eret?"

"God Will, you sound like an edgy teenager. Grow up, Wilbur! This is the real world, there's not just good and bad! It's not that simple."

Wilbur shrugged, the smile never left his face.

Eret regretted yelling the way they did.

Tubbo looked at them, a strong look of sympathy in his dark blue eyes.

Eret angled his head down.

"Tubbo, can you go check on Ranboo? I'm worried about him, " Eret fussed over Ranboo like a mother would her child.

"Okay, you good alone with psycho?" Tubbo glanced over at Wilbur.

"Rude, " Will commented.

"Yeah, it's not like he can do anything, " Eret said, ignoring Wilbur's comment.

Tubbo nodded and turned to leave, he looked back at Eret for a moment before leaving.

The second the door shut Eret turned back to Wilbur.

The former president seemed to be caught off guard by the stern look on their face.

"What happened to the Wilbur I knew, the kind and sweet man who would have done anything for his country and his brother. Now, look at you, " Eret's eyes gathered tears in them as they spoke.

"Eret I made a choice, one I don't regret, don't hold that against me."
__________

Ranboo sat there trying to calm himself down.

His hands shook, he angled his head up to look at the ceiling so no tears would run down his face.

The situation with Wilbur had him in a complete panic.

  He hated the entire thing.

From the taunting remarks Wilbur made such as calling Dream and him brothers, to the idea that Dream was so obsessed with getting Ranboo on his side that Wilbur would go out of his way just to see why.

The door creaked open.

"Ranboo are you okay?" Tubbo asked.

He paused for a moment.

"Kinda?"

"That's not really an answer, " Tubbo walked over he sat beside Ranboo.

Ranboo looked at him.

Tubbo smiled comfortingly, "Talk to me."
__________

"Eret, " Will had been silent for a while so him speaking again caught Eret off guard.

"Yeah?"

"Are we friends?" Wilbur spoke in a tone that wasn't threatening or teasing. He looked and sounded genuine.

Eret didn't know what to say. Was this a trick? I guilt trip maybe?

"I mean... I'm not sure if this is a trick or-"

"No tricks. I forgive you, you forgive me, and we go back to how it was before the final control room."

Eret looked at Will's sad dark blue eyes.

"Okay, yeah. Yeah! Friends again, " Eret said briskly.

They felt like crying, they looked down still smiling.

Ever since they had betrayed L'manburg they didn't really expect Wilbur to forgive them.

Eret looked back up at Wilbur who had a genuine and comforting smile on his face.

It was almost like in this second, this moment, everything they ever did just disappeared. Wilbur wasn't insane, Eret had never betrayed anyone.

They knew it wasn't true, but it was a nice thought.

At that moment Eret realized what they had to do.

They were going to bring Wilbur back.

He was insane, Eret knew that, but he wasn't too far gone was he?

Eret stood up, "I'll be back in a second Will, I'll send Tubbo or Ranboo over, " they said.

They started walking toward the door.

Just as they put their hand on the door handle Wilbur interrupted them.

"Wait, Eret there's a... book."

"A book?"

"Dream he has a book, that's why I'm back, he knows how to bring people back."

Eret stared at Will in disbelief, they shook their head.

"Thank you, Wilbur!"

"This stays between us."

"Between us." Eret agreed.
