"So, you finally well enough to tell me what the hell you did?" Wilbur crossed his arms leaning against the wall.Dream looked up, bandaids covered his face, he glared at Wilbur like a kid who was being scolded by his mother.
"Yes, " He mumbled, his voice was still hoarse but much better than it had been several hours ago.
"So?"
"I went to go talk to Ranboo, and he flipped shit on me, " Dream explained, in a way that was very obviously sugar-coated.
"So you're telling me you got beat up by a toddler who can barely remember his own name?" Wilbur snickered.
"Oh shut up, " Dream sneered.
Wilbur laughed for a bit before it faded, he glanced off to the side, he never had found Eret. He thought about asking Dream but quickly realized how idiotic that would be.
Dream seemed to pick up on Wilbur's rather obvious pondering. "What's wrong?" he asked, tilting his head slightly.
Wilbur perked back up, quick to think of an accuse, "Just wondering why you're so interested in Ranboo, " Wilbur said. It wasn't a full lie, Wilbur had always wondered that.
"Oh... It's complicated, " Dream simply muttered out. "Well, I've got all day, " Wilbur persisted.
Dream sighed, "He's my brother, well, half brother, we had the same mother, different fathers, " he explained.
Wilbur was taken aback, the two looked extremely different and they were polar opposites personality-wise, even if they were only half brothers it was shocking.
"Oh, well that wasn't too complicated, shocking, but not complicated, " Wilbur said with a small chuckle. But Dream's face remained dead serious.
"Yeah, it gets more complicated when you get into everything that happened before Ranboo showed up at the SMP, " Dream mumbled.
"Oh?"
"I'd rather not get into that, at least not today."
"Oh, okay, I guess I'll stop bothering you, " Wilbur chuckled lightly. He had gotten an answer, but he wasn't quite sure he believed it.
Sure, he believed that Ranboo was his brother, and that it had some influence on Dream. But he couldn't believe that Dream's intentions were as innocent as simply wanting a relationship with his brother. It didn't make sense.
Then again who was he to judge, sure he was trying to be there for Tommy now but Wilbur knew very well how much he had hurt Tommy in the past. And he spent every day regretting it.
Wilbur glanced off again, a million thoughts raced through his head. To be honest, Dream's words left him with more questions than answers. And now the additional thought of Tommy also resonated on Wilbur's mind.
He wondered where his brother was, he hadn't seen him in a while. To think about it, was barely ever around.
Where did he always go, and why? Wilbur had always known Tommy to be clingy, as far back as he could remember Tommy hated being alone. But now, he chose to be alone almost always. Why? Was it something Wilbur did? Of course it was, all Wilbur had ever done was hurt Tommy, no wonder he chose loneliness over him.
Wilbur winced at this thought, no matter how true he knew it was, it still hurt. He knew he needed to fix what he had done wrong if it could even be fixed.
He had considered himself to have been making progress, he accepted he was wrong, and accepting your wrong is the first step to improving, right? Then what was the next step?
Wilbur was pulled out of thought by Dream's voice. Wilbur looked back up to meet Dream's gaze, "I'm going to talk with Techno, wanna come?" Dream said as he rose to his feet.
"Techno? You two haven't spoken since your big fight where he walked out, you sure he isn't gonna try to stab you or anything?" Wilbur cocked his head to the side.
"Me and Techno made a deal about two weeks ago, he's working with us again, " Dream said, grabbing a black hoodie with a smile on the front off the table and pulling it over his head.
Wilbur couldn't help but stare, it was unusual to see Dream in anything other than a bright green hoodie and his mask. He still hadn't quite gotten used to seeing Dream's face.
"You sure it isn't a trick? I mean Techno isn't particularly known for being the most peaceful man..."
"He wouldn't dare, now are you coming or not?" Dream narrowed his eyes.
"Yes, yes, I'm coming, " Wilbur said, "No mask?"
"Techno's seen me without it, plus I don't even have it, Ranboo knocked it off my face before he killed me, so I didn't respawn with it."
"Oh, " Wilbur simply replied, he grabbed his jacket and pulled it on over his shoulders. He walked quickly over to Dream, trying to not annoy him more than he already had.
"You gonna make a new one or..." Wilbur asked. After saying this he glanced over at his sword that was propped up against the wall.
He considered bringing it with him, but decided against it. Techno wouldn't hurt him, Dream maybe, but Wilbur had known Techno his whole life, and he could never imagine Techno hurting him.
"No, I'll just get it back off Ranboo, " Dream once again pulled Wilbur out of thought. "How do you intend to do that? Brothers or not I'm pretty sure Ranboo hates your guts, " Wilbur raised an eyebrow. "I have my ways, " Dream said, flicking the hood of his hoodie over his head.
He reached for the doorknob, although he seemed to hesitate for a moment before turning it and opening the door. "Okay, let's go, " he looked over his shoulder to glance at Wilbur.
Will smiled slightly and nodded.
__________Word count-1062
Hello! Sorry for the even longer wait this time around, but if all goes well there should be quite a few chapters coming out in the next 13 days.
Anyways, since the whole lore last weekend with Ranboo, his life count has become rather confusing, so, I'll just be saying, "fuck canon, " and giving Ranboo three lives in this.
Also, to clarify something else, no, there will be no ghosts in this book other than Ghostbur (Just to patch that plothole we'll say that Wilbur came back as a ghost due to his "immortality" he inherited from Phil) so, no Ghost Eret unfortunately
