Sleep.

Sleep was a hard thing to achieve for most people here.

Almost everyone has something on their conscious, something to regret.

Or something that was stressing them out, whether it be fighting with friends, or enemies.

There were few, if any, people with more regrets than Eret.

And considering they had made many enemies, they barely got any sleep.

They laid there, the cold breeze blew through the windows.

They wished the day would come soon, laying in the dark was boring and they liked to keep themself distracted.

The less time they had to think, the less they would dwell on what they did wrong.

They laid there, planning things for the day ahead they knew they wouldn't get the time to do.

Their thoughts soon became too much for them.

Eret stood up, a short walk wouldn't do any harm, distract themself at least.

Thought about trying to find someone to talk to but unless they wanted to go wake up Puffy or Niki, which they didn't, they doubted anyone would be outside at three in the morning.

They threw on a hoodie, not really wanting to spend time dressing up, and set off outside.

They walked along the wooden path, the cool air was comforting, and the sights along the way distracted them.

  Although they purposefully avoided L'manburg.

They soon saw something that surprised them.

  Another figure was walking around.

They were startled at first, thinking it was Dream but soon realized that they were too tall.

They looked closer noticing that this person was Ranboo.

They realized they hadn't really talked to Ranboo at all.

Eret was hit with a wave of hope, maybe Ranboo didn't know about their betrayal, or didn't care.

Maybe Eret would have someone in L'manburg who trusted them other than Fundy.

They decided to go say hello, they smiled and walked over hopefully.

"Trust me, "  Dream held out his hand, "I only want to help."

His cold gaze and a warm smile met simply giving off an eerie feeling.

Ranboo straightened up, he met Dream's icy gaze, "I'm nothing like you, " he said.

Disappointmentnt was visible on Dream's face.

Ranboo turned around, he wished he'd never have to see Dream again.

Although to say that was practically impossible would be an understatement.

Considering he seemed to constantly be wherever Ranboo was anymore.

Ranboo just wished he wasn't involved in this, wished he hadn't helped Tommy burn down George's house.

As he walked away he heard Dream say something, too far away to tell what, and he wasn't about to ask him to repeat it.

The sooner he was away from Dream the better, he wasn't following him which relieved Ranboo.

He was nothing like Dream......

Right?

Ranboo shook the thought off, of course, he was nothing like Dream.

He walked for a while, he turned around at one point as was relieved to see Dream no longer there.

He figured he should head back home, this was a stupid idea to begin with.

Walking along the Prime Path he noticed someone else.

Crap, Crap, Crap, he panicked thinking it was Dream.

Although soon came to the conclusion that it definitely wasn't.

The person walked closer and Ranboo stayed put.

"Looks like I'm not the only one who couldn't sleep, " Eret chuckled.

"Yeah, " Ranboo smiled quickly then returned to his panicked look.

"You alright? You look like you've seen a ghost, "

Eret realized they weren't wearing their sunglasses, "Shit, it's the eyes isn't it, I'm sorry,"

"No no, it's just- I had a not so amazing encounter a bit ago, " Ranboo only now seemed to realize the eyes despite how much they stood out.

"What happened? Oh shit, I forgot to even introduce myself, I'm Eret, " Eret smiled and held out their hand to shake Ranboo's.

Eret, the name sounded familiar but Ranboo could remember where he had heard it.

Ranboo smiled back, "I'm Ranboo, " Ranboo smiled back and shook their hand.

"Now if you don't mind me asking, what happened that has you looking so shook up?" Eret asked.

"Just an unpleasant encounter with Dream, " Ranboo hesitantly responded.

"Trying to convince you to do something?" Eret asked.

  Ranboo nodded.

"Always trying to manipulate people into doing things, that's Dream for you, " Eret added with a sigh.

"Did he try to talk you into something too?"

"Tried, and succeed, " Eret added looked very regretful.

Suddenly the name came back to Ranboo, Eret, the Eret that betrayed L'manburg, how could I forget that!

Eret must have noticed the look on Ranboo's face.

"Yeah, I guess you put two and two together, I should probably just go, " Eret said.

"No no no, choose people not sides, " Ranboo said.

  "Huh?" Eret looked confused.

"I don't think we should choose sides, and you didn't, " Ranboo said.

"I really hate to tell you but, I wasn't really choosing people, more along the lines of power, " Eret said with a remorseful look on their face.

"Well, I really don't blame you, I don't do well with peer pressure either, "

Eret smiled, they realized they should probably stop talking about how they fucked up, this kid was on their side, and they didn't want to push away anyone who actually wanted to be friends with them.

"Thanks, " Ranboo smiled and nodded.

Ranboo looked around, "I better get going, I'll see you soon!"

  With that Ranboo left.

Eret watched as he walked away with a smile.

"Damn I'm stupid, " Eret said to themself.

"I chose power not people, way to go Eret, " they mocked themself.

Eret was just glad Ranboo didn't seem to care they were known for being a traitor.

And glad they weren't thinking about their past mistakes anymore.

They turned around realizing how tired they had become.

Walking back to their castle with a smile on their face and hope dwelling inside them.
