"We traveled for months, " Foolish had come in to finish the story with Eret.Wilbur watched and listened, staring at the stranger in confusion.
Ranboo was uneasy, he still trusted Eret, it was the thought of how Dream went from a sweet person to a psychopath.
And that something had happened to Eret that they didn't even remember their best friends.
Ranboo had enough of his own problems when it came to memory, and now to think one of his closest friends now had to deal with memory issues as well.
He hated the thought of Eret having to go through the same problems as him.
"We met a lot of challenges, fought a lot of fights, in general, it was a rough year, " Foolish continued.
"A whole year?" Ranboo implored.
"Yeah, we really had no clue where we were going, just that Dream 'felt' like it was the right way to go, " Foolish chuckled slightly.
"Well, how'd you all get split up?" Wilbur questioned.
"Eret and Dream just disappeared one night, I went to sleep they were there, I woke up, they were gone, " Foolish's voice trailed off.
"The only way we'll be able to figure out what happened to me and Dream would be to ask Dream as I have no memory of this entire situation," Eret said.
"Last time we tried to talk to him he just laughed like a lunatic and threatened Ranboo, " Foolish said.
"Threatened... me?" Ranboo felt his stomach drop.
"He told me to keep an eye on you, " Eret explained.
Ranboo pulled his knees up against his chest.
He wasn't in shock like he had been before, he almost expected it at that point.
But that didn't make it hurt less. It didn't make it any less scary.
Eret put their hand on his shoulder, "Ranboo as long as I live he won't come near you."
__________"As long as they're alive I can't get near him, " Dream sighed.
Sapnap looked at his best friend, "Why are you so worried about him, Dream?" Sapnap cocked his head to the side.
Dream glanced to the side, "It's... complicated, " he mumbled.
Sapnap stared sadly at Dream, "It has something to do with her, doesn't it?"
Dream didn't respond.
"Haven't seen another Dremon in years and all he does is remind you of her?" Sapnap knew his friend far too well.
"She's dead Dream, she's been dead for eight years, " Sapnap understood his friend's grief at first but he felt as if it had been long enough. He didn't want to come off insensitive but a part of him wanted to just tell him to get over himself.
"It's not that simple Sapnap, " Dream uttered.
"I know but-"
"No, she's not that simple, " He corrected Sapnap before he couldn't even speak.
"What do you mean?"
"There are things you don't know, " Dream turned away from Sapnap.
"Well then tell me, " Sapnap grew impatient.
"Everything will reveal itself in due time."
"Stop with the mysterious shit! I know you like I know the back of my hand!"
