"id open that bag right about now you're gonna need it" I did as he told me and noticed there was a box inside. I took it out and opened it to see a pair of Nike air force trainers in there in pink. Dom's pink. The obnoxiously hot pink that I rarely wore but grew a liking to just because of him.
"They don't sell these" I said confused
"Got em just for you. So you could match Dom even though pink isn't really your style."
"Can you still give me that piggy back you promised even though I've got shoes?"
"Sure."

"This looks like the one" he said he walked up closer and the door was wide open showing me Dom inside looking stressed and Adam lay down on the bed wide awake. It eased my nerves a little bit but I was still a little apprehensive "Cmon. Get down." I clung to him tightly "Lexi we can go home if you want. M'sure he won't be mad." Dom seemed to hear that one and looked up at the pair of us only a few metres from the door to the room they were in. His face softened at either my presence or the scene in front of him "Well. I think we better go in don't you?"
"Yeah" I let go and dropped down onto the floor waiting a second for me to regain the feeling in my legs. I went to walk in but Tom grabbed my hand and spun me round to face him
"We can go home when you want alright? I know you don't like hospitals." I raised an eyebrow. How did he know that
"Another thing I told you while drunk?"
"Yeah. But judging by your face it's true."
"You promise to take me home."
"I promise we can go ho-"
"No. Promise you will take me. You're the only one that understands me properly. More than Dom does sometimes."
"Then yeah." He took my hand in his and intertwined his fingers with mine "I promise I'm gonna take you back. Just us." I nodded and let go of his hand to walk into the room. There was no sign of Mikey himself but his coat was hung over the back of a chair
"You alright?" Adam asked. I nodded "don't worry. The nurse said she's 99% sure I'm alright. I'm just not allowed to leave the bed until they're sure." I nodded again and he shifted over on the bed "Come here. I'm not mad at you" I perched myself on the edge of the bed still nervous
"I fucking pushed you down the stairs" I argued though it was more of a sob
"And I shouldn't have tried to touch you after you told me to leave you alone. You didn't push me down the stairs you pushed me away from you. Which is fair. Because I would do the same." I wiped my tears away with my hoodie sleeve "Now go on. You're gonna miss sunset. You got a beach trip."
"No." Dom spoke up "Tomorrow now. It can wait. Need to know if you're alright mate. That comes first." He looked up at tom "And you, cheers for bringing her. And making sure she was alright." The interaction between the three of them was quick but quite wholesome
"Adam?" I said softly
"Yeah?"
"Can I have a cuddle? Cus I'm feeling anxious."
"Cmere" I lay down next to him and closed my eyes trying to calm down knowing he was safe right there "You can go sleep if ya want. I'll wake you up when you have to go"
"I'm not tired. It's too early."
"Then just stay there then if ya want." I put my arm over his chest and smiled
"That's my plan."

I was woken up by Adam talking.
"Hey Lexi" the nurse said brightly. She sounded English which in the swarming sea of stuck up Americans was a blessing "Adam here was telling me about ya. Says you guys are really close." I nodded clinging onto Adam as if the nurse was a threat
"Don't worry. Abi here won't hurt ya. Just trying to fix me up." She giggled and Adam smiled right back at her. I smirked at the pair but they were obviously too busy flirting with each other to notice.
"Oh I've got to go. I'm being beeped. I'll see ya later Adam. You too Lexi?"
"Probably."
"Bye then" she left the small room and closed the door behind her
"So. What the fuck was that then?"
"What do you mean?"
"You fancy the pants off her."
"I do not." He defended though the slightly higher pitch of his voice said otherwise
"I say go for it."
"What? Really?"
"Sometimes you underestimate yourself. Just cus I don't like you in that way doesn't mean I don't see how much of an amazing boyfriend you would be. I mean we're practically one fuck away from being in a relationship."
"And I can assure you that that fuck will never happen." I giggled slightly and cuddled into him
"Good to know. But I mean it. You treat her half as well as you treat me then she's gonna feel loved. Besides there's no saying it's gonna go anywhere."
"Stop matchmaking you" he joked tickling my side and almost making me fall off the edge of the bed
"Where's Dom? And the boys?"
"They went to get food. They was gonna wake you but decided just to bring the food back instead."
"How long til abi's shift ends?"
"She's only been on an hour."
"If you don't give her your number I will."
"I don't think I can it-"
"I mean it. She likes you. But she can't say anything about it cus she's at work. But once your discharged that's free reign."
"Can't hurt right?"
"Yeah. That's it. Keep that attitude."
"Why you so desperate to get me to talk to her?"
"Because of what you said. About me having my first before you. Made me realise I want you to be happy too. Even if that means I'm no longer the most important girl in your life." He turned his head to the side to look over at me the space too skinny for him to turn his body comfortably
"That spot will always be reserved for you." He kissed my forehead "You know that right?" I shook my head "You think I was just gonna up and leave ya when I get with someone"
"Yeah kinda. Not on purpose. Just in a i-forgot-because-i-was-busy kinda way."
"Nope. Never. I love ya too much" I smiled and closed my eyes again taking in the silence of the room. The house was rarely silent and although we'd only been out two days I knew that tour would be loud as fuck. The door opened
"She still sleeping?" Dom whispered entering the room quietly
"Nah I'm not. Just comfy. Gonna get up now" I sat up and on a chair next to Dom. Mikey and Tom migrated to the other side of the bed.
"Oh ad?"
"Yeah?"
"The nurse told me to give you this" he handed Adam a card "She said her name was abi? And  that you would know who she was. She also brought this for you" he handed me a little unicorn that was very clearly from the gift shop at the hospital
"What's this for?"
"She said it's because I said you liked them. And you were really upset so she thought you'd want another one." He held up the get well soon card "And she had to write me a note in this or else the other nurses would get suspicious." I stood up and looked at the card
"She left her number. Go for it. After you get outta the hospital."
"Seriously?"
"Yes Adam. Seriously. It can't hurt just to text her."
