87 There She Is, There's Lexi

I launched myself at him and he let go of his bags to hug me back
"Someone happy to see me"
"I missed you."
"Cmon. Let's go inside. I'll explain what happened."
"I don't wanna hear it" I said inviting him in anyway
"Really? Cus I think you're gonna wanna hear what I have to say"
"What? Can't make my life any worse"
"Dom's going out to LA for a bit. Said he'll be back before the baby is born but not before then. He's staying with Colson and Casie I think for a little bit. Before she goes back to school." We walked into the kitchen and I hopped up onto the counter whilst the two of them leant up against the cabinets
"I don't care where he is. He'll be lucky if I'm even letting him in to see his kid being born"
"That's harsh lex. It's his kid."
"And I'm the one pushing it out of me. So he can suck a dick."
"Yknow what I don't even see a way I could argue against that point."
"As it should be. So what happened between the two of you?"
"I thought you didn't wanna hear it."
"Michael don't fucking test me right now. Just tell me what happened."
"He asked me if I knew how to get lawyers involved. So I told him that over my dead body would I be an accessory to whatever sick little spiteful game he's trying to play against you. And then he started screaming at me, throwing my shit everywhere. He broke my phone. That watch you got me when you were seventeen. Anything of slight value that came from you. So I picked it all up and walked out. Then I realised I actually had nowhere to go since he'd no doubt go back home. So I came here."
"But last time-"
"I know what I did last time. But last time was different. And I knew that you'd be terrified of him taking the baby away. So I thought that I kind of owed it to you to come down here. To prove I was on your side." He looked at me quiet as anything and looked nervous "You like gonna say something?"
"He's serious about this. And instead of sticking by him you decided to turn your back on your own home and come here?" He nodded "You really fucking love me that much?" I asked though I knew the answer
"Yeah. I do" Tom left the room miming that I talk to him as he left "but I don't think he's serious about it. He's just mad Lexi."
"Yeah. You got that one fucking right. Man's a nutcase." I sighed "But even though I know you're right it still scares me. Like he could do that. It's all it takes. I've got a shit record I can't be seen as a fit parent."
"But you got us."
"Yeah. I've got you guys."
"I can go if-"
"No" I put my arms out motioning for him to come over "Stay as long as you fucking like" I hugged him tight and smiled
"Right" I heard Adam speak up "As cute as this is we have a fucking breakfast to make. Get off my fucking counter. Or I'll beat you with a spatula." Mikey moved away from me and we both turned to look at Adam holding the utensil up like it was a dangerous weapon
"What if I liked being spanked?" I asked just to bother him. He grimaced and set the spatula down
"Whatever. Get out the fucking kitchen and occupy yourselves somewhere else."

"Lexi?" He closed the door behind him "Your mum wanted to ask what you'd like from the takeaway"
"I'll text her" I picked up my phone and texted her my order "You alright?"
"I actually came up here to ask you that question."
"I'm alright yeah. If anything I've never felt more loved in my life"
"What do you mean?"
"You all turned your back on Dom even though you have nowhere to go. Well you didn't think you did when you turned on him anyway."
"That's just what we do. We just never had to do it before because everything was alright."
"You know I appreciate it."
"I do yeah." He sat down beside me "You tell me everyday."
"I don't-"
"Yeah but the way you trust me. You can't deny it." He tickled my side making me giggle and swat him away "You love us."
"For some strange reason I do."
"Come on. Come downstairs. Because if I try and explain to the boys that your isolating yourself because you feel too loved they might think I'm crazy"
"They know your crazy"
"Fair. But come on."
"I'm fine up here." He stood up and walked around to the other side of the bed where I was lay "No." I said anticipating what he was about to do "No. No way. Nuh uh." He picked me up practically kicking and screaming and threw me over his shoulder
"We are going to have some family time and you're gonna like it" he joked. I went limp and let him carry me down the stairs until he reached the bottom where he pulled me back over his shoulder and set me down "You gonna like it?"
"I don't know" I teased "Maybe I might hate it"
"You young lady you are really testing my patience. I don't know what I'm gonna fucking do with you." he scolded. I looked up at him and smirked "what?"
"I know exactly what but you're not gonna like it"
"No. Tell me what you're smirking at" I stood up on my tip toes to reach his ear
"I like it when guys talk to me like that. It's hot."
"You're right. I didn't need to know. Now go in there" I started laughing as we walked into the living room
"What's so funny?" Adam asked
"I'll tell ya later." I sat down next to him on the couch and took his phone out of his hand "Now let's have some proper family time. And stop texting your girlfriend."
"Needy much?" He said sarcastically taking the phone from my hand but putting it safely away in his shirt pocket
"Very much. And I want attention."
"Alright alright. Come here then" he put his arm around me and I smiled "I missed you. Like a lot"
"And I missed you too. Like a lot." He rolled his eyes
"Haven't changed though"
"Chill the fuck out Adam we've not been apart long enough for me to change."
"Still too long"
"Well we aren't apart now are we? So just enjoy it now."
"Yeah. Let's have fun" he muttered less than enthusiastic about the idea
"Adam, love, just lighten up a bit. I wanna have fun." Tom looked over at the pair of us and raised an eyebrow to ask if I was okay. I shook my head indicating I didn't wanna take it up with him then and there
"I'm sorry." He said clearly aware of the exchange
"It's alright mate. You want a drink?" Tom said holding up a can of coke for Adam. He stood up and took it from him before slumping back down comfortably beside me
"Wow. I forgot how comfy this couch is" Adam commented
"It's even better when you got someone with you."
"Ugh. If you two don't stop it I might throw up" Izzy commented making both me and Adam laugh as her mother scolded her
"You're right though." Adam whispered as everyone got back to their own conversation. I cuddled into him and glanced over at tom who had a smile on his face
"I know." I said smiling up at Adam "I always am"
"There she is. There's Lexi."
"She's here to stay."
"Good." He kissed my forehead gently "Don't wanna lose her again."
