"Ad-"
"Lexi I'm sorry. Please forgive me I honestly didn't know. And then I was too manly to admit it and-"
"Please stop fucking doing that. Get your shit together man and get up." He stood up from where he was sat and stood in front of me clearly finding it difficult to read what I was thinking. I didn't say anything but I simply kissed his cheek and wrapped my arms around his neck to hug him
"I thought you hated me." He mumbled wrapping his arms around me tightly
"We're in the back yard. We're camping me and justin and you can come stay in my bed with me."
"But you didnt-"
"I don't hate you. And Tom's not gonna like it but you know he'll do anything for me so you can stay. I want you to stay. And I wanna hurt them for what they did."
"Don't do that" he rested his face in my neck for a moment or two before letting go of me "He's waiting Yknow." He nodded in a direction behind me and I turned around to see what he meant. Justin was leant up against the frame of the garden gate smiling "We should go. But I have to go tomorrow."
"Please don't go."
"Don't worry" Justin spoke up as we caught up with him and began walking back to the tent "If it's anything to do with me then he's definitely staying. I'll have a talk with Tom about it."
"Please don't go off on him"
"I won't. Promise." He offered
"Okay. I believe ya."
"Now cmon. Get back to sleep so you have at least some variation of a regular sleep schedule"
"You don't mind if I stay in the same bed as her?"
"Wouldn't that make me a hypocrite since she's shagging Tom" he asked Adam. Adam just shrugged laughing a little at the way he phrased it "Look whether I like it or not she loves you guys. And ya look after her when Sam can't be there for her so I have no issues. I just hope she knows how loved she is" I nodded "Then that's it really. But please no funny business. I'm going to bed but you guys are welcome to start the fire and talk."
"I think I'd like to do that."
"Then the matches are there. Goodnight sweetheart" he started crawling into bed "And goodnight to you too mate"
"Night Justin."
"Night" he smiled and zipped up the door to his tent but as soon as he did that Adam gave me a look "He's trying. And doing well."
"Breaks your heart I'll break him."
"I know. But I don't think he will. I think he really wants to change."
"You can go to bed if you want. I'm just gonna have a cig then go myself"
"Okay" he beckoned me over and hugged me
"I won't be long. And you can keep an eye on me from the bed. I just don't want you breathing it in."
"Don't smoke. It's bad for you."
"I know. But it calms me down."
"Can't I just wait out here and light the fire like he said?"
"No. You need to go to sleep. I've disrupted you enough."
"But I want to stay with you." He sighed and put the cigarette back into the packet before shoving it into his jacket pocket and taking the jacket off
"I'll come to you then."
"You don't have to. You can smoke if you want. I'm just being stubborn."
"Oh were self aware now are we?" I chuckled
"Always have been. I just use it to my advantage."
"I like the way your brain works. You getting in first or me?" He asked making his way over to the tent
"Can you-"
"I wouldn't leave you anyway." He reassured almost reading my mind "But yeah I'll do it so you know I'm gonna stay."
"Thank you."

"What did they do?" I finally spoke up. He had his back to me and I left him to it whilst I mulled over what to say
"Nothing. But Jess told me Tom did all this shit to her. And I realised Tom would never fucking do that. So I guess that's what she did to him"
"Adam why do you have your back to me? Ya can go have a cig if you want." He turned over and laughed a little
"Well normally id be on that side. So I would have been facing you"
"Just being paranoid."
"I need to tell ya something though. And you're not gonna like it."
"What?"
"I'm going tomorrow. staying at the house till Dom gets back then staying with a mate."
"Why?"
"Because you and tom are happy here."
"But he's not happy Adam. And neither am I. Or anyone else."
"I'll come see youse still. And I can facetime. And I hear Justin wants to teach you to play guitar so that's cool."
"Don't go. What was the point of you coming here just to fucking leave" I turned my back to him this time "Would've liked it better if I thought you hated me."
"Don't be like that" he said trying to put his arm around my waist. I pulled his hand away and shoved it behind me "Cmon Lexi"
"No Adam. You can't just turn up and then fuck off again. It's not fair."
"But tom-"
"Fuck Tom. Dad said he'd speak to Tom. But you just don't wanna stay so fuck you" I heard the door unzip and Justin popped his head round
"Come on. Sleep in my bed sweetheart. Stop arguing with Adam and go to sleep."
"We're fine."
"No you're not. Cmon" I got up and out of the bed
"Where you gonna sleep?"
"After I talk to Adam I'll probably sleep out here. I'll be fine. Don't you worry"
"What do you mean talk to Adam?"
"We're gonna talk" I gave him a look "Not like that. I'm not going to yell at him. Just talk to him about what's gonna happen with Tom and that."
"No. I wanna stay while you talk to him."
"No. Go to bed darlin'"
"Don't say that. Tom calls me that." I said sternly, unexpectedly feeling quite possessive over the name.
"Sorry sweetheart. I didn't mean to upset you. Just go to bed alright?" Although I didn't want to I had to admit I was feeling a little tired so I nodded.
"Night" I mumbled
"Good girl. Night." I turned my back and climbed into the bed "Cmon mate." I heard him say "Let's go for a chat me and you."

Adams POV
"Didn't mean to make her cry. I wouldn't do that to her ever. Not on purpose anyway"
"I know. I haven't brought you out for a walk just to tell you off. You're a grown man. You don't need that from me."
"Then what are you gonna say. Because we've been walking for five minutes in silence"
"I want to ask you to stay. And I know you said no to Lexi but it's different."
"I cant-"
"I know you don't have any respect for me. Why should you I've not exactly done much for you ever, but she needs you. And her and Tom are going through a tough time."
"Tom?"
"You blind? He won't let her go. Not even for minute. He parents her."
"That's just him" I said shrugging not willing to admit what he was saying was true and I had just been too blind
"Adam, son, he is broken too. Whatever that girl did to him she definitely didn't go easy."
"She-"
"I heard." He interrupted clearly too afraid to even speak about it myself "And trust me if anyone ever came near any of you and tried that I would go and fucking hurt them."
"Why do I fucking matter to you?" I mumbled
"Because you guys all did the job I failed to do. But this isn't about me. This is about Tom. Just please help him out." We had somehow circled back to end up at the garden gate "Do you wanna talk to Lexi?"
"No. She's mad. And probably asleep." He smiled and unlocked the gate only for us to be met with the sight of Lexi in front of the now re lit fire
"I managed to do it" she said to Justin
"You did. You want to sit out with Adam. I'm going to sleep." She looked over at me then back at him and nodded
"I'm staying." I said sitting down on the small two seater garden furniture "And I think your dad likes me"
"What did he say?"
"Doesn't matter. But just give him a chance yeah. He really wants to make it up to you."
"He's probably listening to us talking right now. Cus I know he's not asleep." I heard a slight chuckle from the tent confirming her suspicions
"I'm so fucking sorry. Don't know what if do if I didn't have you. And if I missed out on seeing baby."
"Don't think." She said laying down with her head on my lap so she could curl up "I'm tired."
"Well then just put the fire out and go to bed."
"No." I sighed and pulled the stray hairs out of her face causing her to smile
"Then I guess you could stay right there. But don't move."
"I won't." She closed her eyes and fell asleep still smiling. I knew I'd have to move her but right then and there I didn't want to. She looked so peaceful. And quite frankly I wasn't prepared for Tom so I needed all the calm I could get.
