60 One Fucking Time

"Where's Adam?" I asked izzy
"In the kitchen getting us a drink and stuff. Why?"
"I need to see him. Mind if I just delay this a bit?"
"No. That's fine."
"Thanks Izzy" she smiled at me and went back to watching the screen whilst I made my way to the kitchen "Why'd you get off so quick?" I asked him. He shrugged and carried on pouring the popcorn into the bowl "Adam I'm talking to you"
"Go talk to Tom about it instead" He said waving his hand dismissively not even bothering to turn around to me
"So that's what it's about?" I asked softly not wanting to start an unnecessary argument
"I just wanted to watch a film one time lex." He turned around to face me leaning back against the counter "You two haven't been apart since we got here." I hugged him tightly and there was a moment where he just awkwardly stood there with his arms out. That was until he wrapped his arms around me. Not just a normal hug. One of those needy desperate hug where you try and pull the other person as close as possible. He buried his face in my neck and there was utter silence in the room as we stood and hugged for a few minutes. Then he pulled away and carried the stuff through to the living room like nothing happened. I went to follow him but just as I got to the living room door there was a knock at the front door. It was basically my house too so I didn't waste any time in answering it since they no doubt would knock again. I opened the door and went quiet when I saw Michael stood there holding a bear and a bunch of flowers, the ring I gave back to him on his pinky finger presumably for safe keeping
"I'm sorry lex." He said softly almost pitifully. I took a moment to look over what he'd brought. He'd thought about it I'll give him that. There was a bunch of red roses and a cute black teddy with a red bow "I know it's like a valentine's thing but you always said you loved red roses. And that's what sucked about them: you were only supposed to give them to someone your in love with. But I guess I love ya so it's not that bad. Please say something so I don't have to keep talking"
"Why are you here?" I knew it sounded like I didn't want him there but I didn't know what else to say
"Because I thought I needed to apologise."
"You've got fuck all to apologise for you idiot."
"Yeah I do. I left you."
"You made sure Dom was alright. I was just too upset to see." I swallowed trying not to cry right then "Where is Dom?"
"With Colson back at the house."
"So you came all this way to see me?"
"Looks like it yeah"
"Come in. It's cold out there." I moved out of the way to let him walk inside closing the door behind him "Let me take them" I picked them both up and set them down on the small cabinet in the hallway "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have reacted like that. And I know it was cruel to give the ring back because you knew how important it was to me."
"It's alright. Kept it safe for ya" he pulled it off and took my hand in his to slip it back on. I started laughing "What?"
"You brought me roses. And a black valentine's bear. And now you're putting a ring on my finger"
"Yeah. Your ring" he emphasized but he was laughing too "No friends like us eh?" I hugged him tight
"Nope. But that's why I love you all so much. When everything's normal that is. Right now Tom's being clingy as fuck and Adams being weirdly distant."
"Let's go talk to them then." I pulled away and nodded taking the bear and bunch of roses before walking into the living room with him following close behind. Adam looked confused then his expression turned to anger when he noticed Michael, prompting him to stand up and clench his fists
"Sit back down right now." I commanded. He listened and sat back down "Iz. I know you were watching a film but do you mind going upstairs. Just while we talk. I'll explain to mum and your dad when they get back yeah?"
"Okay."
"Can you go get Tom for me too?" She nodded and left the room "Now. We are going to talk this out like grown adults. Cmon Mikey. Sit down"

"Hey Michael." Tom said as he walked into the room "How come you're here?"
"To see Lexi."
"Oh. Right. Why is it so tense in here then?"
"Cus I don't want him here" Adam spoke up "I don't wanna see him or Dom ever again. Not if they treat Lexi like that." Adam had moved himself to sit on a chair so he didn't have to sit beside anyone especially Michael. Tom sat down beside me and turned his attention to Adam
"And she's grown and can make her own decisions. Adam I know you wanna protect her but she wants to forgive him so we should"
"Should we now?" Adam spat staring directly at mikey
"Yeah. We should. Stop having an attitude and realise it's what Lexi wants that's important. Not whatever petty grievance you have on her behalf."
"No Tom I'm not gonna just forgive him."
"Adam it's lexi-"
"Fine." I interrupted "Don't forgive him then. But he's here for the day so you are gonna be pretty lonely."
"We're going out." Tom spoke up. I tried my best to act like it had been planned when I knew nothing about it. I didn't have to say anything because the front door opened and Sam popped her head round the door to the living room
"Hey Lexi. Do you mind helping out."
"Yeah mum" I shot Adam a look before getting up "Don't mind."
