"Derek's not gonna kill her without proof." I argued as we walked into chemistry. "I refuse to believe he would just straight up kill her."

"All right, so he tests her like he did with Jackson, right? But when and where?" Stiles asked. On that note, we looked around and saw Isaac and Erica enter from the other side of the room and grin at us.

"I think here and now."

The boys and I made a dash for Lydia's table and managed to get there before either of them. I took the seat next to Lydia and Scott and Stiles pulled up and sat at the ends of the table.

Lydia frowned at us confused. She leaned to the side."What's happening?" She whispered at me. Before I could come up with a plausible lie, Harris walked in the room and went past our table.

"Einstein once said, 'Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity.' And I'm not sure about the universe." He turned to the class.

"I myself have encountered infinite stupidity. So, to combat the plague of ignorance in my class, you're going to combine efforts through a round of group experiments!

Let's see if two heads are indeed better than one. Or, in McCall and Stilinski case, less than two."

Stiles grinned sheepishly.

"Erica, you take the first station. You'll start with--" just by saying Erica's name, almost every guy in the room shot their hands up and Erica smirked pleased.

"I didn't ask for volunteers. Put your hormonal hands little hands down." Retorted Harris.

"Start with Mr. McCall. All right, next two!"

Harris parried Lydia up with Allison, me with Isaac and Stiles with someone else.

"I'm not gonna let you hurt Lydia." I informed Isaac as I measured the ingredients for what we were making.

"Why? Do you even like her?"

"She's my friend Isaac." I snarled. "I don't let my friends get hurt. And while your here you can tell Derek he can forget about having me in his pack."

Isaac smiled all seductively. "Really? Are you doing it because you don't want to or is it because of Stiles?"

Despite what he said, I kept my composure straight. I knew what he was listening for so I responded back with sass.

"And are you really that pathetic and desperate to do whatever it takes to stay on Derek's good side?"

Harris rang the small bell. "Switch!"

Allison was my next partner and I sat down while keeping an eye on Lydia. "Is he gonna kill her?" Allison asked worried as we poured more stuff inside the beaker.

I sighed as I glared at both Isaac and Erica. I didn't have a concrete answer for that. "Not if I have anything to say about it."

"And switch." I sat in front of Stiles and Scott and when Stiles tried to move to fill in Lydia's seat Harris intervened.

"If you're trying to test my patience, Mr. Stilinski, I guarantee it will be a failing grade." I tapped my foot anxiously. What was he going to do?

"Time! If you've catalyzed the reaction correctly, you should now be looking at a crystal." said Harris from his desk. Scott and Stiles just had hard sand but my partner and I had a small shiny crystal.

"Now, for the part of that last experiment I'm sure you'll all enjoy. You can eat it.."

Oh my god!

"Lydia!" yelled Scott abruptly shooting up from his seat when she almost ate the crystal.

"What?" She asked looking back.
Scott looked around awkwardly "Nothing."

I saw the venom on the rock. We watched helplessly as Lydia ate the crystal. The venom that was on it did absolutely nothing to her.

I looked out the window and noticed Derek's car, he was looking straight at me, hands in his pockets glaring.

Oh crap.

The bell rang and we all rushed out, Stiles and Scott blocked Erica's path at the first door and Allison and I blocked Isaacs path at the second door. Lydia had already walked out of the classroom and we held them as long as we could. "Could you all leave?!" yelled Harris, getting annoyed by our glaring.

I nod and smirked at Isaac who was silently growling. "Have fun on Derek's bad side."

We ran away instead of letting them through. All the way to Coach's office to figure out what the hell we were going to do.

"Derek's waiting outside for Lydia." I informed them as I shut the office door.

"Waiting to kill her?" Allison corrected as an question.

"If he thinks she's the Kanima, then yes-- especially after what happened at the pool."

Stiles shook his head. "It's not her. I was with her that night."

I sighed and crossed my arms. "Doesn't matter. He won't believe you, he'll think your covering her because of the crush you have on her and she didn't pass the test. I mean, nothing happened to her."

Stiles kept shaking his head. "No, it can't be her."

"It doesn't matter, because Derek thinks it's her." Allison said. "So, either we can convince him that he's wrong, or we've got to figure out a way to protect her."

"Well, I really don't think he's gonna do anything here. Not at school." I said.

"What about after school? What if we can prove that Derek's wrong?"

"By three o'clock?" Stiles asked skeptically.

"There could be something in the Bestiary." I suggested.

"Oh, you mean the nine-hundred-page book written in archaic Latin that none of us can read? Good luck with that." Stiles said sarcastically.

Allison looked down in thought. "Actually, I think I know someone who might be able to translate it."

I raised a hand. "Scott and I can talk to Derek, maybe convince him to give us a chance to prove that it's not her?" I wasn't convinced it would work.

Scott nodded in agreement. "Right But, if anything happens, you guys let us handle it, okay?"

Allison looked at him offended "What does that mean?"

"That you can't heal like we do. I just don't want you to get hurt."

Allison reached into her bag and surprisingly pulled out a crossbow, arming it and holding it up.

"I can protect myself."

Scott looked down in thought. "What? Did something else happen?" Allison asked.

"I just don't want you getting hurt. Seriously, if anything goes wrong, you call me, okay? I-I don't care if your dad finds out. Call, text, scream, yell, whatever. I'll hear you and I'll find you as fast as I can. We have until three."

Scott headed to the door first and just as I was about to step out, the familiar sound of an arrow shooting made me spin around, grabbing a hold of the arrow before it most likely killed me.

I looked to the perpetrator in shock. "STILES!"

Allison slowly turned around, extending an arm out to Stiles, waiting for him to hand over the crossbow.

"Ah, sorry. Sensitive trigger on that."

I sighed. "I know my cousin, we won't be able to convince him. We'll distract him but you need to find Lydia and run."
