"The mansion's dungeon is downstairs but I'll need your help Ace breaking any lock we see." Says Yuni as she continues to lead the way.
"Of course," Ace replied.
So far after walking through the hallway, there was still no sign of anyone wandering in the dark. There were no guards that would get in the way of their little infiltration. The pair quietly found the staircase leading down and approached the area carefully. With each step down Yuni's breathing began to increase either out of spite or from remembering those painful memories it didn't matter. Yuni has two objectives, killing Lenny to free herself from her nightmares and rescuing those who fall victim to his lust.
After finally making their way down Ace took the lead the moment there was a locked door in front of them. With just a simple transmute spell he destroyed the lock and opened the door to several cages some with bodies of women not even responding to the pair's entrance.
Yuni's eyes widened dashing forward to each nearby body until they found a woman barely alive. She held out her hand towards her recognising Yuni's appearance she smiled upon first glance.
"Princess... you're... alive... I'm glad." The woman weakly said.
Ace inspected each of the bodies from a distance and noticed that they all shared the same small pointy ears similar to Yuni's. Their particular ear shape almost resembles that of a human but distinguishes the demonfolk people. What they all shared in common was the strange mark on their hands whilst Yuni did not have the same mark. However as Ace checked, there was no clear heat signature from anyone else confirming that mostly everyone was dead.
'When I think about it what kind of Demonfolk is Yuni? She looks like a regular human to me.'"I'm here. We're here to get you out. Is there anyone else here still alive?" Yuni asked when she looked at Ace he only shook his head.
"They're dead... all joining their fated loves in the afterlife... soon I will... too..."
The woman says as she holds out her hand in the air. Yuni recognised their condition and softly smiled with tears in her eyes.
"I see... everyone here is the same... your contract... it was already in effect a while ago..."
"Forgive me, princess... He's calling for me right now..." The woman says as she breathed her last. Yuni clutched her hands with regret but at the same time, she understood that she was far into her condition and that there was no point in saving her.
"Everyone else is gone too." Ace said.
"I know... it was inevitable for some of the succubi anyway. Those marks on their hands represent a contract between their lover. If that person dies... their life span will drastically decrease, so they can follow their loved one in the afterlife." Yuni explained.
Ace took another look at their marks. Although he was curious about how this mark came to be he knew that it wasn't the time to ask Yuni about the history.
"That's one better way to die... then to something else."
"After tonight, I'll have to take action. There are still more people out there, and afterwards, I'll put to stop to Regis." Yuni clenched her hand on her sword. "Let's... cremate them I want to burn whatever regret they once held."
"Sure but we won't have much time to pay our respects."
Despite the risks of drawing potential attention with the smoke that may travel across the mansion, Ace agreed to Yuni's request without hesitation.
"I know... I'll be quick."
One by one Ace used the giant rags that the women were presumed to use as blankets, covering each body and starting a flame. Yuni requested them to speed up the process and they both used their hell flames cremating the bodies in seconds while Yuni knelt to do a quick prayer to them.
