Ace had woken up from his long night. It was already noon, and Yuni had already left the bedroom. He dressed himself up and prepared to head outside. Ace had already spent enough time recovering and was stressing about the time he had left before the next Fallen wave.

"Yuni's gone already." Ace says to himself as he's getting up.

'Darklin are you there?'

He called him out via telepathy. When he first woke up, his only focus was on Yuni, but now that it was a brand new day, Ace needed news and updates on what he had missed while he was gone.

'Of course. We have waited for your return. Currently, we are at the barracks. We will update you there.'

'Alright, I'll be there soon.'

"I.D or Alpha, is anyone there?" Ace exited the room and called out for his automatons. There was no response.

Ace can only sigh. He was reminded of the limitations of communication in this world. There need to be proper communication devices in place so he can contact anyone from anywhere.

"Right... How long will it take to make a phone-like device? and what about the automatons? Communication will be key for the upcoming future. I have to bother the craftsmen again..."

He exited the castle making his way to the barracks, assuming that everyone he needed to talk to will be there.

Upon going outside, the Kingdom around him felt more populated than usual. There were people Ace did not recognise. These people had noticed the mark on Ace's hand letting out a small gasp. They bowed to their kneels, showing their respect to Ace.

"You must be our new King...! Thank you for freeing us!" A Demonfolk with horns bowed to him.

'I don't recognise these people at all... and the moment they saw Yuni's mark, they instantly reacted. Wait... when those patrols go elsewhere that night, that means-'

Ace had finally pieced the population growth and the retreating enemies together. Razor and Elora must've been a part of this plan, but who else had participated? There must've been multiple groups who had targeted several markets all at once.

"I didn't do anything. Sorry, I have to go."

"Of course."

With one single blink, Ace's presence had disappeared in front of the crowd. He knew that he'd get all his answers at the barracks, where everyone seemed to have gathered.

-Barracks-

The moment Ace entered, the guards in front of the building gave a bow to him. Though he gave an attentive look to them, wondering if they had participated in the operation that night.

"...My liege is something wrong?"

"I do recall just calling me Ace, whatever. So who's in today?"

"Her Majesty, Commander Roza, and a few others."

"Thanks. I'll ask them what I've missed. Can you escort me to them?"

"With pleasure."

The guard made a salute before leading Ace to a giant room. The door was guarded by Ace's two automatons in a perfect static position with their hands behind their back. The chatter behind the room had stopped as Ace had arrived just by the door.

"Thanks, you can return to your duties."

The guard smiled, bowing before he left Ace's presence.

'It's still weird to be bowed at...'
