-Eight days Before The Oracle Fields-

"You're going to infiltrate tomorrow?!" Yuni raised her voice in Ace's direction.

"Yeah, they're beginning to mobilise the forces and teleport them in." Ace says as he grabs an empty magic bag.

"It's a bit too soon." Yuni says with a concerned expression.

"I know. Will you be really fine without me?"

"You ask that, but I should really be worried about you. You won't break your promise right?" Yuni interrupted Ace's tasks as she grabbed his hands.

"I won't." Both of them locked eyes as if they were about to kiss.

"Ace, also keep in mind that I will be out of range to link with you." Darklin swooped in, interrupting the two's intimate moment. "Forgive me. I should have said so telepathically."

"Oh, it's fine. You're not interrupting anything, Darklin." Yuni quickly gave a peck on Ace's cheek with a smile.

"That's why I was working with Ginger and Ferghus for a while and made this." Ace says, holding out a bar made out of clear mana crystals. He handed one to Yuni, who looked confused about the given item.

"What is this?" Yuni asks, playing around with the item. Darklin was intrigued and flew towards her, resting on her shoulder.

She tapped the screen where texts conjured out of light appeared. The first word that popped out was contacts. With curiosity, she pressed it again, seeing Ace's name.

"Tap my name." Ace instructed.

"O-okay?" Doing so had made a beeping noise coming out of Ace's end. He grabbed the same device and tapped a green circle that appeared on his screen.

"Hello." Ace smiled, answering Yuni's call. She heard Ace's voice from her end, clearly understanding the device's properties.

"You just made a cleaner crystal," Darklin commented.

"I guess you can say that. What I've just made is a 'phone.' An advanced device I used back in my world to do the same thing. Except it can contact multiple unique devices. No need for a pair of crystals that solely link to one end. This one can add other devices or phones, we call it."

"Wow, you're amazing, Ace."

"I also prepared another one for my friends just in case. I have someone in mind and want to give this if I get the chance. No, I 'have to give this to them."

"Would it not make them in danger if they are seen with such a thing?" Darklin asked.

"Obviously, but I can trust this person. I've tampered with this one so it can do extra stuff." Ace says, holding out the phone."

"Oh like what?" Yuni looked closer.

"I asked someone to link a dimensional trace on it. Both mine and this phone are linked if they're in trouble I can teleport to them in an emergency. But I'll have to give them certain conditions for when they can send such a signal." Ace explained.

"That is?" Yuni asked.

"When Regis wants to get rid of them."

"Ah... that's understandable," Yuni replied, having a hint of rage in her voice.

"Now I see the potential in this phone. No need for the inferior crystals anymore." Darklin commented.

"This is a prototype. It's not as good as the real thing back in my world."

"But I can call whenever, right?" Yuni asked as she held the phone.

"I'll try my best if I'm not busy..."
