"ARIA LOOK OUT!"

With Aria's [Wind Veil] still in effect, Olivia rushed out to intercept the stone knight activating a magical art in the process.

"[Utility Art: Scarlet Step!]"

Oliva's boots became cladded in red mana and immediately dashed forward with explosiveness. Aria who was late to notice the incoming attack braced herself until Olivia suddenly appeared in front of her. Olivia blocked the heavy blow only for her and Aria to be pushed back.

Both of them were sent flying metres away until their momentum stopped. Unfortunately, Aria cushioned Olivia's fall as they fell to the ground.

"Ungh..."

"I'm sorry Aria! Are you okay?!"

"I'm okay but..."

Around the duo were several enemies surrounding them. They pointed their weapons towards them ready to kill them in their vulnerable state. Before they could act Olivia frantically summoned a flaming wall surrounding her and Aria from the enemies.

"Damn it! We need a mage over here now!" One of the enemy soldiers shouted.

"Haha... this is bad. We're in the middle of the enemy with no signs of backup." Olivia tiredly reminded Aria of their given situation.

"Sorry this is my fault. I should've just sticked with everyone." Aria said with a regretful tone.

"What's done is done. But my wall isn't going to last this long." Olivia says gripping her spear tightly.

"I can give us an opening but I'll be low on mana right after." Aria says coursing mana through her spear.

"How are you going with your mental fatigue?"

"I can use my unique art once if I have to, but I currently feel a strain..." Aria held her head.

"I also feel a bit cloudy, I'm still exhausted from chasing after you." Olivia says trying to catch her breath. "In a few seconds my wall will go down. Get ready."

"Got it..."

Suddenly Olivia sensed the flow of magic around her from several mages, they were preparing to cast their spells in a few seconds. She gritted her teeth knowing that one way or the other they have to act now.

"Aria just do it now!"

"[Slashing Anemo!]"

Aria called forth a cyclone around her reeling those around her towards the air above. Once again a swirl of blood twirled slashing away the enemies caught within her spell.

"Fall!" Aria shouted, indicating the end of the spell's duration.

The sight of raining corpses brought fear and terror to the soldiers watching the sight. However, there are two options to combat this fear. Either run away or fight the cause of the terror. A group of enemies chose the latter. They all began to charge towards Aria and Olivia.

The duo gripped their spears tightly fighting away the incoming soldiers with difficulty. Aria's swings were slower than before even as she killed one soldier after the other. She had yet to catch her breath as a familiar stone knight made its way towards her.

"Uh oh! Aria let's back off!"

"I can't...!"

The stone knight already charged an attack, making contact with Aria's spear who blocked its attack just in time.

Olivia imbued her spear with magic aiming for its core but the knight noticed her attempt. It freed one hand and swung its fist to Olivia landing a critical hit on her head. Her body flew metres away in the opposite direction leaving Aria alone.
