It had been two days since Olivia died. Aria barely spoke during this time, keeping to herself. Even though she shared a room with the other girls, she only gave short, empty answers when anyone talked to her. Everyone gave her space, understanding she was hurting.

Since Olivia's whole unit was wiped out, Aria and her friends were moved to Ancel's unit at the front lines. Ancel's unit was big and important, made up of several smaller groups. It was much larger than Olivia's old unit, which had been on the side of the battlefield.

Aria was put in Dave's group, which had lots of experienced fighters. Aria and her friends from Olivia's old unit were split up and put into different groups to fill in the gaps left by the recent attack from the Fallen.

Right now, Aria's squad includes her friends Alan, Freya, Hilda, Warren, and Vella. They were all moved together to Dave's group after what happened to Olivia's unit.

The fortress was on hold for a few more days, waiting for new soldiers to arrive before heading out to the oracle fields. After the Fallen's attack, everyone worked hard to cremate their fallen friends. As the ashes rose from the ceremonies, it reminded everyone of the sad losses from that awful night.

Dave and some other top fighters worried this might happen again in the next battle. But Ancel, following King Regis' orders, brushed off these concerns. This made everyone in the Creles army feel scared and unsure. Each day, their spirits sank lower, but they couldn't do anything against the King's commands.

Aria was taking a quiet walk in the courtyard when Dave suddenly showed up in front of her.

Dave approached Aria, his face etched with sorrow. "Aria, I'm sorry about Olivia. She was... a dear friend. And now, losing both her and her husband..." He trailed off, lost in memories.

"It's fine," Aria replied quietly.

"Right well, I'm glad I found you. Here," he held out a scarlet spear, its unique craftsmanship setting it apart from standard weapons. "It's Olivia's spear. Your weapon broke fighting that Fallen, right? I think Olivia would want you to have this."

Aria grasped the spear slowly, feeling a connection to Olivia. A faint smile touched her lips. "Thank you."

"Of course," Dave nodded. "David found this spear in the dungeon where we trained. It's tougher than your old one. Olivia was an orphan like you, so she has no family to inherit her legacy. So this... It belongs with you now."

He handed Aria a heavy pouch of gold coins and a key. "For Olivia's house. Seems she was quite the saver."

Aria straightened herself. "Thank you again. I'll serve you well, sir."

Dave chuckled. "No need for formalities. When we leave, you'll travel with the other Heroes in my squad. I won't be in your carriage, so you can all talk freely."

"Where will you be?"

"I'll be at the front. It's kinda uneasy for me to be in a carriage since I'm always on horseback. Till then take care." Dave says with a wave.

"Right thank you once again." Aria says with a bow.

Dave responded with a smile before heading out.

Aria examined Olivia's spear, searching for the special crystal slot that would bind it to its new owner. Most weapons could be summoned from thin air using these binding crystals, linking them to their users. The weapon could be stored in the user's dimensional space when not in use, though the capacity varied from person to person.

Focusing on her magic, Aria successfully imbued the binding crystal, linking the spear to herself. Since Olivia's death, the spear had become ownerless, ready for a new wielder.
