Ace returned to the dorm to find himself a bit slow thanks to the alcohol he drank with Razor. Although he started with something light eventually Razor dragged him into the heavier drinks causing him to awkwardly move from left to right trying to gain his balance.
Thud!
"Damn that Razor... I don't remember what we did after the 5th drink..."His body crashed onto the wall and managed to land on the sofa, only to realise that someone else was in the vicinity of the room. It was one of the girls, with one look closer it was Freya. She shared a similar resemblance to Ace with her blank expressions but compared to him she was more of the expressive type.
"Ace...? What the...? Wake up!" Freya's eyes widened as she was about to slap Ace awake but was stopped in the middle of the action.
"Freya back off... I'm just... trying to gain my momentum." Ace said to her.
"Seeing you crash like that... I don't think- did I just smell alcohol? At a time like this?!"
Freya stared down at him but Ace who tried to stare back held a dizzy motion unable to centre his attention. She gently held out her hands holding Ace into place to face her eye to eye helping him retain balance in his line of sight.
"Thanks... I just need water." Ace said to her.
"I got it, to think in this world I still have to watch over my cousin, I'll be back," Freya replied.
Indeed both Freya and Ace are cousins. Due to his parent's death, Ace stayed with Freya's family for a few years until he eventually moved in back to his house on his own, which was why she was tasked to watch over him just in case he needed help with anything. But typically Ace is responsible enough to take care of himself until now.
Freya eventually came back with a glass jar of water alongside a cup to pour one down for Ace. Instead, he helped himself to gulp down the whole glass container feeling more awake, returning his senses to reality.
"Sorry... Razor pressured me to drink more and I well... blanked out the moment I got here." Ace explained himself.
"Hm... it would've been interesting if you acted out of character there. Will you even be fine for tomorrow? We're going to be exploring the dungeon and who knows what kind of danger lurks in there. Plus we have a war right after that."
"I know..." Ace replied tiredly
"You and I are the only ones who can calmly kill another lifeform, so we need you a peak condition." Freya rambled on.
"I know... but animals and humans are two different things in a moral sense." Ace fired.
"And the sensation of killing an animal is quite similar is it not?" Freya fired back.
"Freya, killing people is completely different than hunting a dear. That's a whole new business we'll be venturing off to. It's a completely different story once we fight in this war.
"You're right, I just know we're mentally stronger than the others." Freya let out a small sigh.
"Aren't you confident?"
"I've made my resolve Ace."
After noticing her serious expression Ace let out a sigh.
"Yeah... me too."Ace was already showing signs that his drunken state was going away from the fact that they were talking normally to each other and with Ace not showing any signs of drunkness.
Freya did a quick scan of Ace.
"Well, at least you're back to normal if you can speak to me like that. You're lucky that I found you first. Otherwise, everyone would've judged you."
