"We won't let Eren's sacrifice go to waste..." Owain muttered.
"To think I'd see Holy Knights around us dying. And we lost two in our squad in an addition to that." Cayde added.
"Falkes didn't even have a chance to react to that bastard." Talon recalled the Fallen's gunshot.
Aria's breathing began to increase, and all her memories of Olivia's final stand returned to haunt her. She quickly looked back, not sensing any nearby Fallen around her group.
"There are no enemies around us. That's a big relief." Hilda sighed in relief.
"Wait, someone's missing!" Alan shouted.
"Huh?! Where did Freya go?!" Vella cried out. She hastily looked around, only noticing all the dead bodies of soldiers around them.
"She was just behind us wasn't she?!" Warren replied.
"Why would she leave the group?! What is that girl thinking?!" Hilda angrily shouted.
Aria's eyes widened. The only person positioned at the backside was the Holy Knight Eren, who had continually looked out for Freya. She began to piece together why Freya had interacted with him more than in their group. The reasoning behind her confidence in him, Eren's familiar tone he carries, and how for some odd reason, Eren has yet to show what he had actually looked like in front of the Hero group.
'Impossible... I have no evidence. But Freya must've stayed back to help him.'
"We have to go back! Freya stayed behind as well!" Aria shouted.
"HUH?! Why the hell would she?! We almost died to that weapon master last time! That bastard has a gun! There's no way a bow user can beat a gunsman like that!" Hilda shouted.
Hilda's body began to shake. She quickly reached for her stomach, where the Fallen had previously shot her.
"Shit... I've killed so many soldiers this fight. Yet why can't I control myself to rescue Freya..."
"Hilda, here. [Brave Heart]" Vella held out her staff and chanted her spell, calming Hilda down. "Don't dwell on it too much, or my spell will lose effect."
"G-got it..."
"Freya is within our protection. So if you guys want to go ahead and rescue her we'll follow you no matter what." Owain said.
"Thank you for accepting our selfishness Owain." Alan bowed his head.
Suddenly everyone turned to their right, sensing countless footsteps heading their way. They all took their positions, preparing to fight.
"What the?! Is it the Fallen?!" Talon asked.
"No... they don't look like it..." Cayde answered.
A group of soldiers emerged from the fog. The holy knights recognised that they were dealing with the Cromor soldiers from their green armour.
"Bastards... how did the Fallen not dwindle their numbers." Owain drew out his sword, imbuing his entire equipment in holy magic.
"There are stronger ones behind them. We have to deal with them first." Aria drew out her spear, fixating her gaze on the people hiding amongst the crowd of soldiers.
A group emerged from the green wave of soldiers, much like Aria's group, who held their own specialised equipment. One glance at their weapons and strength had already told them what kind of enemy they were facing.
"Well, I didn't expect to see a familiar face! I can't believe you're a hero too Vella!"
A familiar voice was heard amongst the crowd addressing Vella specifically. Since Vella is a healer, she only wears a blue and white cap over her head rather than a helmet like her friends. With her face exposed to the enemy, it seemed she was the only one recognised by their group.
