I was just kidding my faves, y'all know we got a lot more shit to cover. Here's a lil chapter though 🥰
Two Weeks Later

"Do you like this carpet better honey? I've been thinking about re-doing the living room?"

"LeAnn, the only thing I would like better is seeing our daughter open her eyes."

"She's going to be fine Gary."

"How can you be so sure?? LeAnn, she hasn't made any sign of progression yet! No movement. No anything!! This should concern you. I can give less of a damn about a carpet right now!!"

* Arguing continues*

Raya

"Da-aa-dd-yy," I strained as much as I could. The arguing I heard in my subconscious grew louder as my parents had a shouting match with one another.

"Daaadyyy," I spoke louder. No response.

"DAAADDYY," I yelled with every vocal cord in my throat. It then rewarded me in return with a harsh cough that was painful enough to make me cry. My dad's head switched in my direction.

"Raya, baby. Here drink some water," he handed me a cup that I sipped quickly. I was so dehydrated.

"My baby," my father sobbed on my shoulder making my heart clench in complete sadness. All I could think in this current moment was this was all my fault. I've never been so ashamed of anything I've ever done in my life until now. I began crying with my father, but my hurt came from a place of conviction. How could I have been so reckless?

"I love you so much baby. You hear me," my dad asked holding both sides of my face. I nodded as tears continued to fall from my eyes. I could have lost him forever. He could've lost me forever. My children could've lost me forever. My precious babies. I'm so ashamed to even classify myself as a mother right now.

"How are you feeling Raya," my mother asked. There was nothing in her eyes. No affection. No happiness. No pain. I felt as if she was just there.

"I'm ok. I'm just uncomfortable," I told her.

"Here, let's try to help you sit up," My father offered. He was trying to help lift me, but I refused him midway as I cried out in agony. A sharp pain shot from my right hip down to my leg. I blinked back tears as I sat there throbbing.

"Oh baby girl, I'm so sorry," he released me quickly. "Let me get the doctor in here."

After several minutes, a handsome black man came in with a couple of women who I was assuming were the nurses.

"I tell you one thing Gary, you sure have a fighter on your hands," he chuckled before he smiled at me. "Good morning Raya, I'm Dr. Briggs. I'm so glad to finally meet you."

"Good morning," I formed a smile out of politeness but I had nothing to smile about.

"I'm sure your body is feeling a little stiff from that position you've been laying in for these last couple weeks. I have Nurse Anna and Nurse Jade here to help get you a little more comfortable. Is that alright?" I nodded as the ladies came over to me.

"I won't lie to you and tell you might not feel a lot of discomfort, but we have your pain medicine here to moderate that a little for you."

The nurses came on either side of me as they lifted me from either arm. Tears sprang to my eyes once again, but I bit my lip hardly before I expressed my pain.

"You're doing good Raya," my mother coached. By the time they got me in a position that was comfortable enough for me, the tears had already traveled down to my neck.
