6 Weeks Later
Raya Simone
It's officially the launching for R. Simone Cosmetics! We've been marketing like crazy every day since then. My last few weeks have been completely hectic from shooting commercials, choosing ambassadors, dealing with my children, trying to move in, and accomplishing my physical therapy. I haven't had time for anything besides work and business. Chris has also been occupied with making sure his new gym was coming along the way it should. His grand opening will be in just two weeks so we've barely had time to see one another since I moved in my new home, which I'm in love with! When everything dies down I'm planning on having a proper house warming party.
I just dropped my kids off to school so I could meet up with Dorinda and the team at the location we were having our pop up/ launching party. We were expecting about 300-350 guests so it's down to the little details for me. This is the biggest responsibility I've ever taken on so I've embodied a complete perfectionist approach about my business.
Once I arrived to the venue I placed a messy bun in my head prepared to work. Yes, this might be my company but I refuse to have anything but an attitude of humbleness about myself. What God giveths, he can also taketh away."Good morning, good morning," I walked in making my arrival known. I received replies back from the ones who heard me. Dorinda walked up to me with a smile.
"Goood morning boss lady. How are we feeling today," she asked cheerfully. I smiled warmly at her feeling amazing from my mood.
"I walked in here on my own two feet from my new home to prepare for a successful night for my new business, I'm feeling blessed beyond measures right now Dorinda."
"God is good sis. Let me walk you through the space so you can see how we got everything set up so far. If you want to make any changes or have any better ideas you know I'm all ears," she patted my back as she led the way. Dorinda was more than right, God is good and I could never thank him enough.Chris
"Nothing tacky Chris," Naomi warned me.
"Now why would I get my baby anything tacky," I asked her. She shrugged in surrender.
"Relax nigga, I'm just saying."
"Ooh what about this set here," My mom asked pointing at some pearls.
"Mmm.. no offense Mama J but I know my cousin and she ain't going to want to be walking around here looking like the Queen of England," Asia joked looking at what mom was showing me.
"Ugh! You kids don't know a damn thing about class. This is class right here honey," mama retorted. I decided at the last minute I wanted to get Raya a congratulations gift, well it wasn't necessarily the last minute. I've been thinking about this for a while now, I just hadn't had the time to actually shop for something. Since this was so last minute, I asked my mom, Naomi, Asia, and Tremaine to tag along to help me make a good decision. We were down here in Beverly Hills at one of the most popular jewelry shops, Peter Marco. I know Raya loves jewelry so I thought this would be the best option."You're right ma'am. You have exquisite taste," Kate, the store assistant, complimented her choice. "These pearls are meant to showcase the finest of elegance against the skin. Would you like to try them on?"
I maneuvered my way around that conversation so I could continue to look. From my time of knowing Raya I learned she liked to good from head to toe, I mean all the way down to the ring that was on her finger. I wanted to pick out something unique and as she says "fit for a bad bitch." Crazy ass girl, I couldn't wait to see her tonight.
I was about to give up on the search, just because I felt I wasn't seeing anything that just screamed Raya to me until I came across a special display. It was a cubic link chain with a butterfly pendant to go along with it all engulfed in pink encrusted diamonds. There was also a bracelet to compliment the chain.
"Kate I wanna see this one." I told her. Naomi and Asia walked over to look at what I chose. I looked at both of their faces light up in delight.
"Oohh Chris, she's going to love that," Asia was smiling even harder when Kate displayed the jewelry on the counter. The pink diamonds danced around each chain, twinkling before our eyes. Tremaine let out a low whistle.
"She gone love you boy," he patted my shoulder. I smiled nodding at his response. I would love for her to love me, but there's no rush I want it to be genuine.
"You get that good taste for your mama boy," my mom smiled proudly.
"Kate, I'll take it," I didn't hesitate to say. She smiled warmly with a nod.
"Right away sir."
