Sources says that Raya filed for divorce not too later after her recovery from the wreck she and Danny were in weeks ago. It's also being said the reason behind her decision is because Danny and RnB star Amiyah have been rumored to be having an affair for quite some time. Raya After reading too many negative comments I exited out of Instagram completely annoyed. I wanted this new transition in my life to be private. I don't need other people and their unnecessary commentary regarding what's going on with me. It's enough I'm living in it. Chris had came back in the room by the time I rolled over in the bed. He was fully dressed in his gym gear looking hella sexy. Seeing him with his athletic clothes on always reminded me of the day we first met. I don't think either of us would've imagined we would be where we are right now. "Why you still in bed," he asked me. He was searching around the room looking for something. "I got caught up reading all this bullshit about Danny and I in the shade room," I sat up in the bed wincing from the stiff pain I felt in my back. I couldn't wait until this was all over. Still to this day, I'm mad about the stupid decision I made because I sure was paying for it. "What you mean?" "Well according to the shade room, an unknown source has spilled all of Danny and I's business so now the whole world knows about the divorce and Amiyah." "Unknown source my ass, how much you wanna bet it was his messy ass sister," he was still checking around his room for whatever he was looking for. "You know what? I wouldn't even be that shocked if she was. I swear I can't stand that bitch. I'm sorry, but when I heal, I'm going to smack fire from her ass." "No the hell you're not. You have a business now, you gotta act like it babe. Leave her miserable ass wherever she's going to be at." "Mmm.. I'll have to pray about it honey," I told him. I shifted my weight to my good leg to support myself up to stand on my crutch. "What the hell are you looking for anyways?" "My apple watch man," he said frustrated. "I'm already running late and now this thing won't show up. I know I left it on my dresser in the closet." "Chris," I stale faced him holding my wrist up and pointing at it. "When you get that," he asked realizing that I had his watch on. "Hello crazy, I've been wearing it all week. Remember I asked to use it," I reminded him with a goofy chuckle. "Here baby." I took it off so I could place it on his wrist for him. "You don't know how happy I am to see that. I gotta get out to the gym, so mama will be here to help you and everything," he told me grabbing his keys. I nodded watching him double check around the room. "What are you doing today?" "I have a meeting this morning and afterwards I'm getting the girls together to go house hunting with me," I was very excited about the second event. I'm starting to feel like I'm getting a real shot at actually being my own woman. Independently, handling any goal I have set for myself. "House hunting? You don't wanna stay with me," he look slightly disappointed. "Don't get me wrong babe, I've enjoyed staying here with you but I have children and honestly I don't want to jump into anything too fast. I like what we have going and I just want to take it slowly so our own space would be a great way to accomplish that." "Yeah I guess you're right. It's just we haven't spoke about what we're going to do past this point so I just assumed we were good with it." "We can talk about this later okay?" He nodded before pecking me on my lips. "I'll see you tonight?" "I'll be here," I smiled sweetly. He waved once again as he headed out. A couple minutes after he left Mama J knocked softly at the door. "You can come in," I told her hobbling over to the dresser. "You ready to get dressed honey?" "Yes ma'am let's do it."
Later That Day
"Hey boooo," Naomi came embraced me in a hug nearly topping me over. Asia was close behind as she smiled brightly. I was so happy to see them both. The last couple of weeks have been crazy for me and I just hadn't had the time to really be on chill. After my meeting, I called up my girls to tag along with me on a couple of these house tours I had set up. I also invited Mama J because she and I have gotten close over the last few days and I really trusted her judgement.
"Hey sis I missed you," I told Naomi in our hug. I then hugged Asia. Once we finished having a little small talk I introduced my girls to Mama J. "Ladies this is Chris's beautiful mother Ms. Joyce, but as I like to call her Mama J. Mama J these are some of my favorite people in the universe. My cousin Asia and my best friend Naomi."
"So nice to meet you ladies," Mama J pulled them both in a hug. Asia gave me a look like "okayyy bitch". I know what she was thinking, at this rate you could say I'm practically in there. I met his mama and she already loved me. What can I say, I'm just making my way in this man's life one day at a time. After we shared our mutual look, we decided to walk inside and meet the realtor. "Good evening ladies," a beautiful, chocolate black woman greeted us at the entrance. I purposely chose a black woman to sell me my first home because it's black everything my way. "My name is Jocelyn Rivers and I'll be assisting you on today. Champagne?" She offered a tray full of champagne glasses. "Ohh, very sophisticated," Mama J commented. She nodded her head obviously impressed by the gesture. "Don't mind if I do." "I second that," Naomi reached over to pick up her flute as well. Jocelyn smiled warmly before placing her attention on me. "And you must be the lucky lady, excited to buy your first home?" "Extremely excited," the smile on my face stretched wide across my cheeks. "That's what I love to hear. Well, how about you all come on in," she opened the front door wider allowing us access through the foyer. "Oh wooow," I exclaimed as soon as we stepped inside taking in the elegant, entrance way. I was practically sold already. "Raya, this is beautiful," Mama J told me looking as excited as I felt. "Soak it all in ladies. This lovely home is a 5 bedroom 4 bath, sitting on about 5,000 sq feet at the price of 2.5," Jocelyn began as she led us through the home. When you step in you're greeted with an open floor plan and a grand, black staircase to the right. I've always been a big fan of grand staircases because of the dramatics it adds to a home. "There are two guest bedrooms and bathrooms on the bottom floor. The rest of the 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, including the master are located upstairs." "I already claim one of the bedrooms downstairs. Thanks in advance," Naomi joked as we continued the tour. It was nice and spacious throughout the lower level of the home. You could hear the click of our heels echo off the walls from the smooth, wooden floors. "Here is the kitchen," Jocelyn came to a stop. "Now Raya I know you told me you would like a big enough kitchen that could hold multiple family members in here at one time so do you think this will be a nice enough size?" "Oh yeah, I think we could make this work," I touched on the cabinetry. "Now I must say I'm not too much of a fan of wooden cabinets so I think I might replace these with all slate black appliances instead." "Love that idea," Mama J approved. "You just give me the word and I'll come throw down for you." "Oh? Sounds like we might already have a winner," Jocelyn looked at me with an eyebrow raise. "If this house keeps it up, we just may." "Sounds good. Let's continue to the backyard," Jocelyn opened the patio doors to the immaculate backyard. "As you can see there's plenty of room for outdoor entertaining with the fire pit to the left and more seating towards the front of us." "There's the twins pool," Asia pointed out. I laughed rolling my eyes at the idea of more pool maintenance, but I promised them they would have another one. "Yes Lord. Mama J, Raya's children are actually fish in case you didn't know. They really are supposed to live in the water," Naomi joked. I laughed again because it was so true. My kids love being in that damn water. "Sounds like my grandbaby. I'm sure her and the twins would get along real well. Probably as close as siblings," Mama J pretended to cough not making eye contact with me. I knew where she was trying to hint at with that little comment. Just like her som, that woman was not slick. "Mhmm, I like how you think Mama J," Asia playfully hit her arm. "Can y'all cut it out! Let this nice lady finish this tour," I flipped my hair ignoring their sly eyes. "No this is by far more entertaining. Better get right sis," Jocelyn gave me a look. "Okay then," Naomi's ghetto ass couldn't wait to chime in. I threw my hands up dramatically. "Well damn, gang up on ya girl then." We spent another couple hours touring homes around the city. I was grateful to have my girls and Mama J be present to help me make such a big decision. It would've be even better having my mom there, but we still haven't spoke to each other since my welcome home party which really hurts. Mama J seemed to have entered into my life at the perfect time just like Chris. The Brown's are becoming refreshing joys to have around. With each day, the stars seem to align more and more. Thank you God for another chance.
