His mouth moved with mine, but only after a hesitation and my hand moved up to find his face. One of the first times we had really touched and it made a spark light up in my body, making my fingers move inward slightly and feel how soft his skin in.
When I pulled away, I could tell he was just as shocked as I was. My hands went back to my side and I looked over at the fire place, turning away from him embarrassed.
He just huffed a laugh out through his nose but it sounded almost like he was laughing at me. He grabbed the candlestick before beginning to walk away from me. Neither one of us speaking and now the silence was almost deafening.
I was relieved when he talked, but not what words he said. "Well, are you coming?"
I didn't talk out of my embarrassment and just filed behind while he went up the stairs. I wanted to ask about the fire pit still being on but I didn't want to say anything so I just walked up the stairs behind him.
When we got to the top he pushed open the bookshelf and held it open with him foot so I could walk out. Once we both exited he gave them book an extra push back in until it clicked and then he turned away.
I just followed him to the door of his house and my eyes caught Jimin's who was walking in. He had his dance bag over his shoulder and gave me a look that let me know he was confused while also being slightly disappointed. I just looked away.
"What are you doing here, Josie?" Jimin's voice said when my eyes turned towards the ground.
"Studying." Taehyung answered for me, alluding to us coming from the boys study room.
"Ah." Jimin said with his head leaning back. "I was just with Kai. I think he's setting up duets soon, he was asking my opinion."
Taehyung looked at Jimin then at me. When he realized we were talking he just turned away, going back to the stairs but walking up them and didn't even turn back to look at me. The pain from how uncomfortable I felt in this moment was excruciating, but Jimin being the least awkward person ever he tried to ease the tension that was one sided. "I put in the good word."
"Oh." I sId trying to be present in this conversation and not what had just happened. "Thanks. I haven't really gotten to talk to him."
Jimin just smiled. "We can go tomorrow morning if you want and practice, we can ask him to stop by."
"That sounds good actually." Since tomorrow was Sunday I was most likely going to be free all day, Jungkook probably was doing his own this anyways. "I really need to let off some steam with dance."
"School getting to you?" He innocently asked me.
It hit me I had just been studying with Taehyung. "Yeah, Character and Conflict is tough."
"What do you even do in that class? Read a bunch of books?" He giggled a little, covering his hand over his mouth. He was so cute.
I shrugged my shoulders because I had only been in this class a week. "Character studies really, inner conflict. I'm gonna work on Juliet Capulet."
"Romeo's Juliet?" Jimin asked, still holding onto his bag. "What's her inner conflict?"
"She doesn't know if Romeo really loves her." I tried to answer simply, though there was a lot mote to the whole situation and the whole story in general.
"Seems interesting." I gave his words a final smile before beginning to leave, but he spoke again. "Do you want me to walk with you home?"
I shook my head. "No, I might take the detour and look at the city. There's so much I haven't seen."
"I've been here 3 years and I still haven't." He agreed with me then began to walk away but stopped me. "Are you coming to our bonfire tonight?" Taehyung didn't even mention a bonfire or anyone getting together tonight. Ouch. "It's here, this town house surrounds a fire pit and so we're getting together and drinking. You and Jungkook should come."
"I'll let him know", was the last thing I said before leaving and finally going back to the apartment.
I took a little bit of a detour to just think about stuff and think about if I even wanted to go to the bonfire tonight, which I decided that I should. I called my dad and talked to him and Jasper for the rest of the way, I can feel the home sickness kicking in. When I got home, Jungkook was sitting on the couch but his legs were in between him and the coffee table where his sketch pad sat. When I plopped in the seat beside him is when I saw that he was sketching the apartment, but he was adding more decorations like hanging plants or photos on the wall.
I pointed to one near the entrance. "This is a good idea."
"I'm thinking about just drawing the apartment big and hanging it up in here. How funny would that be?"
I leaned towards him and my head rested on his shoulder. He set his pen down and his arm wrapped around my back loosely. "Yeah, that would be funny."
"I can draw you sitting on the couch." He added.
I gave him the small laugh he was trying to get out of me. "There's a bonfire at Namjoon's if you want to go."
"Do you?"
I felt his head lean against mine. "Yeah."
"Then let's go." He said and I lifted my head up, he looked at me with a smile. "What's up with you?"
"Nothing." I answered quickly but the way he tilted his head down let me know he wasn't believing it. "I just am feeling home sick."
"You should get Jude to come out here."
I shook my head, knowing Jude was so busy and had his own life to live. I just responded with a 'not yet' and then made my way up stairs for this bonfire we were going to go to in just a little bit.
It was killing me not to just let it all out to Jungkook, to ask him for his unbiased advice and what he thought Taehyung's deals and intentions of hanging out with me are. But I kept it to myself. It didn't even make sense to me why this was on my mind so heavily, how could it ever make sense to him.
When walked to the bonfire since Jungkook laid around most of the day, but he promised this time he really wasn't going to drink. I knew it wouldn't be forced on him because Taehyung and I had our deal, the least I could do is hope he kept it.
A guy I didn't know greeted me at the door, introducing himself as Hobi, telling us he lived here. I told him I was friends with Namjoon and Jimin, and he led us to the back yard where there were already so many people there with drinks in their hands and having dense conversations. Namjoon had his arm around an empty seat and called us over, handing me an unopened can of beer.
He told us he was glad we made it and told us about the intern interview he might have next weekend.
I started to think Taehyung wasn't even going to be here and that's why he didn't mention it to me. I was proved wrong when I looked up to the sliding door and he came walking out, a girl in a tight dress thrown over his shoulder. I lifted the beer to my lips and proceeded to chug it all.
