I was walking beside Namjoon out of our class, wondering if Taehyung was going to be around anytime soon. I was listening to Namjoon rant about the event that occurred the other day that reaped havoc on their house. I kept telling him how Taehyung was back, but when he asked where he was I just said visiting family.
"In the city? Where in Manhattan?" Namjoon was curious which I understand but I can't lie to save my life.
"Um, I don't remember exactly."
I was relieved when Jungkook joined us by going to the other side of Namjoon. "Have you guys heard more about this big birthday ball this week?"
"Yeah, Laurels?" Namjoon asked. "I have my tux already, it's brown. I'm bringing Alexis."
All I had heard about it was from Stella mentioning it at a party, but I was too zoned out that night to hear any details. Jungkook brought it up, I think, saying how nice it was going to be. But I didn't know Laurel except that she was one of their friends girlfriends, so I will probably be sitting this event out no matter how much fun everyone was expecting to have.
"Stella asked me to go with her, it sounds like the place is going to be nice and expensive as hell." Jungkook added.
"It's her 21st." Namjoon said. "They don't play games around here when it comes to that. Everyone's going to be there." He looked at me when he said this and I just smiled softly back.
My 21st birthday wasn't big, it was my family and Jungkooks family along with Yoongi and his family. The presents, however, were very extravagant. I was left to want nothing, but it had been that way for all of my birthdays.
"Party at mine tonight." Jimin was to my side and we were walking like a pack of cool kids in movies.
"It's Monday..." Jungkook said.
I laughed because I knew Jimin was offering this since him and I weren't the ones practicing today. "I'm free tonight. My schoolwork is all caught up. So, like I said, a party tonight."
He walked off, to find more of his friends to tell I suppose. "This party will be insane." Namjoon said. "Since it's the only house probably throwing a party."
"I can't go. Stella is suppose to come over and we're going to watch one of her favorite Halloween movies." Jungkook said.
The last thing you want to do is show up to a party alone. So I just kept smiling...until Namjoon looked at me waiting for me to talk. "You're coming, right? Jimin was telling you!"
"I'm not showing up by myself." I said and gripped my bag more aggressively.
"You say that like you won't know anyone there."
Considering the history of how these parties go for me, I figured I'd just go to the studio or something. Then someone started speaking beside me. "I'll pick you up at 7."
Taehyung was walking beside me and I looked at him and then at Namjoon and Jungkook who were on the other side of me. "So be ready."
"Picking me up to walk?" I asked him. Being casual about this situation so I didn't get weird looks from people who weren't used to us being nice to each other.
He nodded and then began to walk past all of us. Namjoon spoke up before he escaped too much. "Did you hear everyone's going to this 21st birthday ball?"
I realized he said that because I seemed to not be going. I wasn't expecting Taehyung to ask me either. "Yeah I hope everyone else has fun." With those words Taehyung was gone, turned a corner and disappeared reminding me how well I actually did know him.
