Two weeks had passed since my father attacked with that hateful bitch Celeste. I was enraged that she was still alive I wanted her dead but that could just be my pregnancy hormones kicking in. I was huge now thanks to my Earth abilities it accelerated my pregnancy and my son was bouncing around. Cypress was due any day now and I was nervous and excited as was most of the pack. However, Xavier, Matteo and the rest of the pack was still mourning the loss of the matriarch and beloved elder Natalia. But that wasn't the only shock we received that dreadful night. Turns out my mother was a wolf-witch hybrid who was under a spell cast by Natalia and the nearby coven. It was to alter her appearance and scent unless I was looking death in the face then it would revert her back to her normal appearance. We had a long heart to heart after Natalia's funeral and Heath was stunned by the length's she took to protect us both. Faking her death was the hardest piece she had to figure out as well as breaking the mate bond with my father.

What worried me the most was Xavier he was determined to have the best warriors ready to fight when he traveled back to Pine Mountain. The feared Alpha by many was present and that's what worried me. Aspen and I longed to be close to our mate it was as if we were being pushed away and that hurt. He wasn't sleeping with any other she-wolf otherwise I would have felt it though our bond. I knew he came up to our room as one night I fell asleep in my reading arm chair by the fireplace and was in the bed when I woke up the next morning. He did help put the furniture together for Cypress's nursery and I was glad he set time aside for it. I was currently on my way to the pack doctor for a check and was being escorted by Heath and our mother Autumn. My mate wouldn't be present for this appointment and I was heartbroken and pissed. I took a deep breath to ground myself before my powers went crazy again. I inhaled the scent of fresh baked bread, the maple trees, the damp earth beneath my feet as we approached the good doctor.

"Thank you for coming with me you guys," I said fighting back tears that Xavier wasn't here with me.

"Your mate has a lot on his plate especially with losing his grandma and preparing for the war that is coming," said my mom thoughtfully as she squeezed my hand as we were escorted to a room immediately.

"He still should have been here with her though mom," said Heath growling lowly.

"He will be dealt with this evening come hell or highwater he is going listen to me," I said feeling a fresh wave of anger as a calming breeze came through the cracked window into the room.

"Brisa is good at picking up others emotions already," I smiled knowing it was her who sent into the room.

A knock on the door brought our attention back to the situation at hand. Doctor Zeke walked in with one of his nurses.

"Good morning Luna, you should be cleared to travel to Pine Mountain, we are going to check the pup's stats to be sure. No shifting until a few weeks after the pup is born to allow your body to heal from the childbirth," he said as I nodded in understanding. Everything was a blur from that point on hearing Cypress's strong heartbeat warmed my heart and soul. However, Xavier not being here made me very angry and hurt.

My Luna, are you okay? Asked my concerned mate.

You and I are going to have a very long discussion this evening, I snarled back.

I have to put the warriors through the training drills then we can talk, he remarked back.

Putting the pack before your pregnant mate is a brilliant idea, I snapped back letting him feel my anger and hurt through our bond before I blocked him.

"Aurora you need to calm down now honey," said my mom soothingly as I took a deep breath as tears streamed down my face.

"I'm going to kick his ass one of these days," said Heath with a growl.
